Chris Wallace is feeling sad, betrayed, and angry because Democrats won’t play any reindeer games with him on Sunday mornings:
On a recent Sunday morning, shortly after refereeing a debate between Karl Rove and Democratic Rep. Chris Van Hollen of Maryland, Wallace talked to Politico about the Democrats’ lack of appearances on Fox News, the “liberal bias” at competing networks and how November’s television ratings prove that while his show remains in fourth place nationwide, it’s on the upswing in Washington.
For Sunday talk shows, thriving in the D.C. ratings — although clearly trumped in size by New York — provides bragging rights over which show reaches more political insiders.
But more importantly, since the Sunday shows’ objective is not only to reflect on the past week’s events but to get political leaders to break news and move the conversation forward in the newspapers and the blogosphere on Monday morning, it’s essential for both leading Republicans and leading Democrats to reach members of D.C.’s chattering class.
“I think the Democrats are damn fools [for] not coming on Fox News,” Wallace said. “And my guess is that once you get a nominee, they probably will come on, because they know that we get a lot of voters they are going to need if they are going to win the election.”
He then said "You neeeed me. You neeeed me." before breaking down and blubbering "Baby come back. I swear I’ll be good to you. Just give me one more chance. I’m the man you need. I’m the man you want.".

Wrong. The democrats don’t need the batshit crazy Fox audience.
“And my guess is that once you get a nominee, they probably will come on, because they know that we get a lot of voters they are going to need if they are going to win the election.”
Ummm……. I checked the voter rolls under “angry, dim-witted mouthbreathers”, and guess what? We got plenty. So, no thanks Chris.
“Baby come back. I swear I’ll be good to you. Just give me one more chance. I’m the man you need. I’m the man you want.”.
And now we sing! In the style of Worlds Apart
Baby come back, any kind of fool could see
There was something in everything about you
Baby come back, you can blame it all on me
I was wrong, and I just can’t live without you
The high parts have to be sung by the head tenors out there, not me.
Wait a second! I thought Fox News was “fair and balanced.” How could there be any possible equivalence between Dems not appearing on Fox and ReThugs not appearing on those liberal, biased networks? So Wallace wants Democratic candidates not to be afraid to answer his hostile questions? Hostile, but fair and balanced, that is. Completely unbiased. Journalism at its best. Yes, that’s Fox.
Just what is “holy unshirted hell” anyway?
Does that have anything to do with Rich Gannon or Rod Majors?
Is it a special place in hell that Dante didn’t tell us about? Is hell with shirts better than hell sans shirts?
And why are shirtless hellhounds holy anyway?
Someone really needs to look into this, because I have a feeling that the Hooters in hell are a lot more fun than the Hooters up here.
Unless of course, the Hooters are all run by Republicans (I mean, they certainly don’t go to heaven, so that only leaves Cheney’s playground) and that just means a lot of Hewitt’s running around topless, and trust me, that’s hell.
In a perfect world faux would have to buy there airtime like the televangelists and Popeil fisherman. After all, they are advocates, which is a polite word for hucksters. Just like Ron Popeil and Jimmy Swaggart.
Bill O’Reilly will no doubt be stopping by Chris’ office later today, to lift him out of his funk. “Be strong, Chris. You don’t need them. You don’t need anybody. Well, OK, you need me. But you don’t need anybody else. Just me. It’s all about me.”
Holy unshirted hell = JPod in the pool.
Chris,
If they come or not, please keep your shirt on.
What a self-important putz. No respect intended.
Did Mike Wallace have any children who lived?
And then he’ll brush up against Chris in that special way of his and Chris’ eyes will light up, and he’ll say “Is that a loofah in your pocket or are you just glad to see me?”
It’s one of the few smart things the Democrats have done lately. Fox News is not a legitimate outlet. It’s well known that their audience is the worst informed (with NPR’s the best). If only the Democrats would say go fuck yourself more often. It’s effective and feels good, too!
Why aren’t the folks at Animal Planet or Spike or the Monster Truck Channel or any other cabletainment network whining the way Fox is? Or to put it another way, why should Fox feel entitled to host debates when none of the other cabletainment networks do? Surely they aren’t claiming they’re a legitimate news source, are they?
and now we sing again! It’s always a sad day when Joe Cool is a more accomplished fighter pilot than the man nutters claim is a war hero … enjoy

The best things the dems could do is to boycott Fox completely. Have NONE of our party’s movers and shakers appear, ever. They need a villain and dems fit that bill. Without our cooperation, there’d be no controversy, no boogey-man, and no ratings. They’d be boring instead of just being bullshit.
The Democrats “need” Faux news? Bwahahahahahaha. Somebody get this dude a dictionary. Yea, Chris, it’s obvious Democrats neeeed Faux news. Why, look at how badly their doing. (snickers)
Gee, you’d think Dem’s had some reason to hold something against Fox for something, like rudeness to Bill Clinton or some other member of their party maybe!
If Chris Wallace worked for a real news network he might get more face time with Democratic candidates.
Keep on smirking Chris–the joke’s on you. Enjoy your career at American Pravda.
Chris Wallace would do or say anything for ratings. In Rupertworld you’re the king of turds til your ratings drop then you’re just another pile of shit in the dunny.
Democrats should say it loud, say it often: FUCK FOX! REAM RUPERT. TWEETY IS A TWAT. POTATO HEAD IS A PUSTULANT PRICK.
On another note, the new blog is OK, it gets a lot more comments, interesting synthesis with the other blogs, but where’s the Thursday Basset blogging? *sniff* And yeah the graphics on the front page was friendlier. My keyboard needs a spurt of coffee now and then.
Anyhoo, congrats and thanks for the ongoing page
You know what we’re never going to get again over here? Godlstein, showing up in the comments. He’d never bother registering with FDL.
Wallace and Fox News…watching their party go slowly down the toilet…
SOB!!!!
Bwaaaahhhhh!!!!!
As I recall, according to a recent poll/current event quiz, the best informed audience was that of The Daily Show. They were either tied, or just a bit better than NPR. Fox was definitely dead last.
And I am sure that made Bill-o’s day.
Well, I guess they’re just going to have to learn to live with Democrats like Joe Lieberman and Tammy Bruce as their guests. Those are the kind of Democrats they like anyway. The rest are just a bunch of leftists. Even Chris managed to get in the shot about the “far-left” during his whine.
Frankly, I have no idea why John Edwards or Barack Obama wouldn’t want to appear for a hostile interview and then be followed by a panel consisting of Brit Hume, Charles Krauthammer and Fred Barnes. All that to reach the most reliably Republican audience in existence? They’d have a better chance on Dobson’s “Focus on the Family” show or at an NRA convention.
So he babbles and says stupid, inane shit on his show, and everyone doesn’t acknowledge its inherent worth?
You really don’t see the problem Chris?
Chris Wallace, aka Sport: I know this may not mean anything to you, baby, but sometimes I get so emotional, sometimes I think, I wish every man could have what I have now, that every woman could be loved the way I love you. I go home and I think what it would be without you, and then I thank God for you. I think to myself, man, you are so lucky. You got a woman who loves you, who needs you, a woman who keeps you strong. It’s just you and me. I’m nothing without you. I can go like this for ever and ever. We can do it,
baby. You and me. Just you and me.
Everytime a Faux bobblehead whines, an angel gets its wings.
And falafel gets eaten.
“I think the Democrats are damn fools [for] not coming on Fox News,” Wallace said. “And my guess is that once you get a nominee, they probably will come on, because they know that we get a lot of voters they are going to need if they are going to win the election.”
Approximately 99% of FOX’s viewers are comprised of the 22%-23% of “values crowd” who would vote for the Republican nominee if he got his jollies by lying to the peons, killing people, and cruelty to animals. The other 1% are masochistic undecideds who probably don’t vote, and who watch FOX for the sheer joy of feeling their collective blood pressure soar.
The Democrats would be damn fools for appearing on FOX. As a matter of fact, if the Democrats were smart, they wouldn’t let FOX bring their own camera crew to their events, but would force them to license canned PR footage from Democratic events in 10-second increments–with the proviso that they show the packages in their entirety, or pay outrageous contractual damages.
