I believe that even if Crapweasel chose to organize himself with the Repubs, leadership would not change during this session of the Senate because of the rules that were adopted at the beginning of it. All that would happen is that Crappy and his Repub pals would start making a huge stink about the fact that the “minority party” was in control of the levers of power. We can safely assume that their attempt to rally public support for a transfer of leadership would be met with a deafening silence from the electorate, unless the popularity of the Party of the President suddenly skyrocketed while I wasn’t paying attention.

Time to put old Joe out to pasture. Let him be an Army of One for the rest of his meaningless last term.

One big reason aside from all the “Crapweasle” reasons why Lieberman for Lieberman threw in for McCain the Republican is that no Democrats asked for the Crapweasle’s endorsement. Of course, I suppose you could say that his being a Crapweasle would explain that also.

Better that, and have enough minority Dems to block everything McConnell wants because of the Magic Sixty Votes, than keep HoJoe in the caucus. For fuck’s sake, if endorsing a candidate of the other party doesn’t get you thrown out, what does?

Oh, and expect HoJoe to speak at the Republican convention next year. That’s an easy one.

Considering that the dems don’t seem to be able to counter the repub obstructionism in the senate, they should kick the lieberweasles ass to the other side of the aisle, anyway. Having Reid in charge is as good as being the minority party or republican when he makes crap decisions like he did on the FISA bill until Chris Dodd and tens of thousands of net-rooters told him “No Way”.

He still has all his committee seats and whatnot because the Dems have a one-seat majority in the Senate. If they take away his toys, he bolts for the other side and the Democrats become the minority party.

Well, they do have a lot in common. Like, they both went to Baghdad and wore body armor, and bought stuff in the ‘market’.

Just to make sure this is the kiss of death, it might be time to remind our wingnut counterparts (who are already convinced that McCain is a ‘liberal’) about all of Holy Joe’s (actual) liberal positions on the environment and such.

I heard this story while driving today, and my first thought was what a scum-sucking crapweasel; thanks for adding that term to my vocabulary since obviously we are all in great need of it at this point in time.

It’s not the people of Connecticut who were stupid. It was the Republicans of Connecticut who put HoJo over in the general. My wingnut brother and sister-in-law were giggly as shit over the opportunity to ’stick it to the Democrats.

Connecticut Republicans couldn’t have made the difference without Connecticut Democrats abandoning their party in significant enough numbers to put Lieberman over the top.

And a sizable minority of Connecticut Dems wouldn’t have done this if
the Senate Democratic leadership had stripped Holy Joe of his seniority and committee assignments when he decided to run against their own party’s nominee last year. Though Bill and Hill certainly have responsibility for their own support of him, his semi-official recognition by the party he betrayed was what let this whole farce continue as it has.

As is usually the case, the Democratic Party has gotten exactly what it deserves. Democratic voters–and the American people–however deserve better.
