While some worry that an Obama loss will make people of the dusky hue go all Rodney King Electric Boogaloo, I fear the Paultards won't be willing to go back to pouring lit Sterno on their Lego Twin Towers replicas and YouTubing the results.
I think the only safe path is to elect Alan Keyes who is both black and crazy. Unity08 should be all over this shit.

Last night, I saw the video of the Paulites chasing insanityhannity and yelling ugly things at him (”Fox sucks”), and I enjoyed it immensely. Don’t be too hard on the Paul folks, they serve a purpose. As long as Ron doesn’t go all third-party Perot, I’m fine with them.
As for Keyes, I would rather the entire country explode than elect that asswipe to anything. Don’t even joke about that.
I loves me some Alan Keyes. That guy puts the nut in wingnut.
His debate appearances are nothing short of performance art and allow (relatively) normal people to see a whole new definition of batshit crazy.
I’ve posted this before, but when I’m watching him in a gooper debate, I’m on the edge of my seat just waiting for him to pull an aborted fetus out of his pocket–fling it down on the stage in front of Guiliani, and scream, “LOOK AT IT. LOOK AT IT!”.
RE: Alan Keyes. I saw him speak recently and identified as a Republican from Maryland. Didn’t he just run for the Senate from Illinois? His web page has a Utah address? Does being from another planet automatically grant you multistate citizenship?
If Paul does the 3rd party independent thing, and Bloomie runs on the Unitard ticket, making talk of a “4th party” inevitable, it’s just possible we might see a President elected with 30% of the vote. A great moment for democracy, a shitty moment for America.
And I keep hearing about the “useful idiot”, but I have yet to meet one. Idiots are idiots, and should not be tolerated, and certainly not encouraged.
IMO, the Paultard/Hannity incident was the funniest thing since Gary Buaer did the backflip, w/twist, off the pancake stage.
In fact, I’ll chip in $20 for the tar if somebody else will supply those folks w/the feathers.
The Hannity trackdown was schadenfreudtastic on so many levels. My favorite bit of invective was “we’re not buying it anymore!” (near the end of the chase scene); exactly what aren’t they buying? The Pox Spews byline? The illusion that Pox Spews supports the Constitution and democracy? Or is it just any vocalization that exits that orifice that passes for the mouth of Sean H.?
I presume chicken feathers will do?
I’ll tell ya, although I love seeing Hannity run like a scared kitten (so scared he made sure the woman with him made it through the door last), those Paul supporters scare me.
His core people are nothing more than white supremacists, and when they were chanting, what I heard was “white power.”
The same cadence, the same anger.
These guys aren’t even close to Perot supporters. These clowns would like nothing more than to turn our country back as far as they possible could, followed by a quick roundup of all Latinos, legal or no. These men and women aren’t useful, though they may be idiots.
I see them as hatred personified. Hatred of a system of government they don’t understand. Hatred of people of darker skin color, and other than that, what other planks are in their platform? Shutting down the government?
You want to know whose gonna freak out if the elections go awry? It aint gonna be black folks, or Latinos, or guilty white East Coast liberal elites — it’s gonna be these gun-owning simpletons who make Giuliani supporters look like sensible human beings.
Fuck Paul. Fuck his supporters and fuck his hatred and idiotic platform. Remember, these are the same folks Obama is trying to court with this fatuous “unity” bullshit.
Chicken, turkey, duck, whatever’s easiest, although I hear the feathers surrounding the bird’s anus are particularly well-suited to the task at hand as they stick to the rail quite effectively.
Humboldt,
I don’t particularly want to have to turn in my progressive Bat-Light and decoder ring, but I’m going to go out on a limb here and disagree with you.
And please understand that I am not:
1. a Paultard.
2. stupid enough to argue the intellectual capacities of the average Paultard with you.
3. under the impression that the Joos blew up the WTC.
That being said, and all snark aside, I just don’t see where you come to the conclusions you do re: the Hannity incident, or Paul, or his supporters in general.
Pls allow me to explain:
I’ve done a fair amount of research in trying to understand the Paul phenomenum and, while I have no doubt that there is a disturbing element to a segment of his support, I seriously doubt that those ratfucking bozos are any more prominent in his camp than the traditional gooper party.
For example, I just don’t see how the white supremacists and their ilk could come anywhere close to raising $20 mil in a quarter after paying the trailer park fees, buying the Nazi paraphanilia, the Ripple, and the alley rent down at the Bowl-A-Rama.
I also think that Paul’s policies on a range of issues are a whole lot more rational than, again, the accepted gooper orthodoxy. If you listen to him in the in-depth interviews he’s given, such as with Moyers, he’s able to articulate his views quite logically.
In short, I find his views considerably less scary than your average Rethug candidate.
Note: On MSNBC today Noron was castigating him for having advocated open immigration in 1988.
Finally, and again this is only from what I can discern (you may be much more well-versed in Paulogy than I) but at this point I’m perfectly willing to sit on the sidelines and let the Paul mob add to the Repug conflagration. I think we can probably round up his freaks after the bar-b-q as easy, or even easier, than the usual suspects.
Now excuse me while I duck down behind this sofa.
Green flashing…throbbing ad thingie…..must look directly into to sun to counter-act eye damage.
P.S. Cancel does not work.
I didn’t notice any annoying ad thingie, but that’s probably because I wear a http://noscript.net/ condom on my Firefox.
“(you may be much more well-versed in Paulogy than I)”
CB, not at all. You put much more effort into your comment than I did, I was reacting almost entirely on a visceral level.
Later I was perusing the toobz and found a Dave Niewert post that makes for an interesting read.
Again, I don’t doubt the man’s sincerity, and to be honest, I am enjoying watching him make FOX News appear as silly as they do to the rest of the rational world, but this shit scares me.

CB Bear,
I don’t think you should underestimate the white supremacists. They don’t all live in trailer parks; some have money and organizational skills.
There is an article in TNR about Paul which details his links to the Neo COnfederat and Christian Reconstructionist movements. http://www.tnr.com/politics/st.....2a7da84ca.
My town has a nasty group of Christian Reconstructionists, and they are all pretty well off. And I have noticed a bunch on them are Paul supporters. Very Very scary.
Just this minute finished the TNR article and hurried back here to post before the tracer fire caught up with me.
The article was extremely disturbing and, suffice to say, I’m not quite so sure of those sentiments I posted little more than an hour ago.
JFC, this could be the quickest turn-around on record, or at least since Jonah walked into Lucianne’s bedroom that fateful night.
tboggers,
I feel like I started this tadoo about the Paulies by my snarky comment in the first post in this thread: “Don’t be too hard on the Paul folks, they serve a purpose.”
Lemme assure you, I’m fully aware of what a total nutjob Dr. Paul is. My comment was directed at Paul’s strong opposition to the Iraq war. It warms my heart to watch him rip into his rethug colleagues at the debates, and on Faux News. He is correct on the war, and he never backs down. We could use a little bit of that coming from our tentative candiates.
I’d be willing to bet that a significant number of Paultards aren’t even aware that he is a long-time racist, sexist, anti-semitic, homophobe (for starters). Wait’ll they find themselves standing next to the skinhead contingent at the next rally.
He is serving a purpose by articulating the insanity of the Iraq war though — don’tcha think?
Of course, if he actually got any traction, somebody would have to kidnap him and whisk him away. tbogg could probably arrange that.
Dunno how much TBogg is getting for that flashing green ad, but it’s quite successful at driving at least one poster away! Later…
I saw that Keyes got at least 63 votes last night.
Ron Paul may serve one other useful purpose, other than being the skunk at the rethug debates, especially now that his past writings are being brought out into the open. Anyone who’s still an RP supporter after this stuff hits the airways has just outted themselves as a drooling racist and white supremacist - this has the benefit of making them so much easier to identify.
Being from a certain western state where the Libertarian party was birthed (yeah, I know, embarassing isn’t it?), my experience has always been that if you scratch a rabid libertarian deep enough, this is the shit that oozes out. Though there were initially some new party converts who were mostly in it for the drug legalization plank of the party platform, they only stayed if they were willing to swallow the rest of the racists package.
And I agree humboldtblue that these mobs are scary; what I found entertaining about it was seeing one of the Faux Spews cheerleaders who has greatly helped give a voice to this crap getting hounded by the mob that now thinks he hasn’t gone far enough for their “taste”. For me it was a classic case of Dr. Frankenstein’s monster and all that; trouble is, the Paultards may be the very next incarnation of said monster on a much larger scale, and that is indeed scary. Unfortunately, in times of economic uncertainty this stuff only gets worse; I was just trying to catch a tangential chuckle where I could.
so, are you just trying to get kristol off the NYT
and back cheerleading for alan?
love your new format, dear. i couldn’t bring myself
