Well, I’m back from South Carolina. It was a fun two days. I rode on the bus (I was the only non-campaign/non-family member on the bus this morning), talked to the candidate, and I got to meet my hero – Campaign Carl Cameron. Yes, he is that cool.

In any event, from the ground it seems objectively clear that Fred Thompson has momentum. While still third or fourth in polling, he is trending up enough that the national media has taken notice and has started paying more attention to him.

Nah, Repubes just straight up kill us. No need for taxes and regulations to do the killing.

Stewart generally winds up trying to make a joke out of your or your issues, or is just downright unfair.

This is completely unfair to her fellow conservatives who venture onto A Daily Show, as the bulk of the comedy comes out of their own mouths. Stewart is simply adroit at highlighting it. This may be why, without the writers, they seem to be booking more conservatives, who are just naturally funny to watch.

On Thursday, Corallo offered a less sweeping comment about Thompson and the group: “He has no recollection of doing any work for this group…

His campaigning style suggests that he often has no recollection that he’s running for President. “No recollection,” if that’s not Reaganesque then I don’t know what is.

What a great spot. Fred all folksy and cool, Ronnie Raygun, oldies waving little flags, and “our rights come from Gawd”, and I think that WAS a Cracker Barrel — HA! — it has it all. I kinda wish I was a right-wing nutjob so I could vote for Freddie.

Meanwhile, McCain will get the nom, and he’s not so much fun.
