Frank J. on Toni Morrison:
I’ve known this since freshman year of college when, for a class, I read an interview with her in which she lamented that too many black were going to school, but I’ve never said it here: Toni Morrison is a racist dumbass of monumental proportions. If you combined the worst condescending attitudes towards black people of a white liberal with an actual black person who thus has no fear of saying whatever she wants about blacks, you get Toni Morrison.
I remember in that college class I had a choice between getting an A or saying exactly what I thought of Toni Morrison in my final paper. It was an easy choice.
BTW, I learned from that same class by reading Beloved that a novel has to be some pretty atrocious crap to win both the Pulitzer and the Nobel Prize. Man did I need a Tom Clancy novel as a pallet cleanser after that.
Sometimes I think that too many white are going to school too.

A “pallet” cleanser? Does he use books to clean his sheets after he stains them? I don’t think he really had a “choice” between getting an A and getting, say, a D. Or only if choice means “inevitably received the grade his work deserved.”

What the fuck is this guy talking about? What is racist about Toni Morrison endorsing Obama? She says in the linked article that she isn’t into Clinton because of her sex nor Obama because of race. These morons have a funny concept of what racism is.
Oh you laugh, but it’s very hard to stack stuff nicely on a dirty pallet.
It is not that too many whites are going to school, is that they are going to bad schools or choosing not too learn at any school.
Frank missed what Toni was saying in that interview. But, when has a wingnut had a decent level of reading comprehension? If they could read stuff critically and understand it, they would be liberals.

I used to argue with one particular wingnut at South Knox Bubba’s (RIP), who would always link to some post to try and prove his point. I would actually go read what he linked to, and it almost always not only did not prove his point, but it frequently refuted it. I would simply point out what the link actually did say, and let me tell you, that would really piss off the wingnut!

I usually let TBogg and Roy Edroso be my Fodor’s to Wingnuttia, so I don’t have massive experience reading their blogs, but I think that’s the first time I’ve ever clicked on a link to something that clearly, obviously and demonstrably says absolutely nothing even close to what the OP claims it does.
