Hillary Clinton made the mistake today of getting verklempft at a political stop and The Watchers Who Watch Hillary immediately jumped on it like a duck on a junebug (quaint folksy yokelism courtesy of the estate of the late Fred Thompson):
Sen. Hillary Clinton teared up this morning at an event at the Yale Child Study Center, where she worked while in law school in the early 1970s.
Penn Rhodeen, who was introducing Clinton, began to choke up, leading Clinton’s eyes to fill with tears, which she wiped out of her left eye. At the time, Rhodeen was saying how proud he was that the sheepskin-coat, bell-bottom-wearing young woman he met in 1972 was now running for president.
"Well, I said I would not tear up; already we’re not exactly on the path," Clinton said with emotion after the introduction.
Now there are a lot of people who might get a bit choked up having a dear old friend and mentor say lovely things in such a setting, particularly if that person is choking up themselves, but that usually only happens at weddings, anniversaries and the occasional bris. And we are talking Hillary Clinton whose facial topography is studied as intently as the Mariana Trench.
Clintonalia scholars studying her every gesture will tell you that a smile (accompanied by her harsh and unappealing laugh) means that she is thinking about how much she would like to destroy America. A pensive look means that she is wondering who Bill is fucking at that moment. A raised eyebrow means that she’s going to have Vince Foster killed. Again. In fact she has no emotions, no expression, that is without meaning, whether it is to fulfill her insatiable need for power or, in some cases, to hide her secret insatiable need for power. Part of it is Hillary and part of it is the fact that she is a woman (and God knows that dealing with white women can be a problem) and they have mysterious ways of sending us signals.
I’ll let the Anchoress, who is the member of the "She’s a drunk and beats her kids…bless her heart" Ladies Auxillary, explain Hillary:
If it’s the day before a Tuesday primary, Hillary must be crying again!.
[...]
How come Hillary only cries when it’s about her? In New Hampshire she gets asked, “how do you do it, how are you so wonderful,” and she cries. Now it’s “look at our little girl, all grown up” and she cries. Never for anyone else. The tears are always for her, and always just before a primary that looks iffy.
I’m not feeling well today, so maybe that’s why I want to throw up. Or maybe, it’s not the bug.
I think the Anchoress is telling us that she can’t stand Hillary Clinton . Or that she’s starting her period.
Probably one of those. It’s so hard to tell these days…

From the Anchoress’ comments:
Yeah, I noticed that, too. In fact, hardly anyone short of Hugh Hewitt seemed a bit bothered by it. Funny that, eh?
Isn’t HH somewhat short in the gene pool, so, of course, few would be bothered by that. Jest sayin’
Oh, good grief. This is going to help Hillary again. What the Krugman column being the most emailed on nytimes.com and the Obama nuclear-regulation story also having steady popularity in the email department cannot do, the outraged women of America will do because of our stupid Media.
(IMHO it will be hard for Obama to have any traction in rural Missouri. The question is how many rural Missourians will vote in the D primary)
Claire McCaskill just asked me personally to vote for Obama. I did not get the chance to give her a piece of my mind on immunity.

Sheesh, TBogg. Way to show what a landlubber you are. Nobody knows dick about the Marianas Trench.
What is your damage, Heather?
OT — Is anybody else getting attacked by the trojan “metajuan” whenever they come on tbogg’s site?
Somewhere in the ether, Ed Muskie is muttering “motherFUCKers…”
Why is anyone surprised by wingnut personal attacks? Policy issues are an automatic loss for them, even if they get painted with pretty names(Clear Skies, Patriot, etc..). Performance and past history is uhh not so hot. So expect a campaign of “If you think we suck, check this out…”, appealing to base emotions. Theme for the GOP 08: Racism, Sexism, Jingoism.
Norton says: No.
Nice Be Bop Deluxe reference that (almost) no one will get…
Wingnuttia can’t make up its mind. Either they call Hillary a cold-hearted bitch without emotions, or too emotional to hold the important job of being preznit.
I think the media doesn’t like her…
If I were told someone thought I was a good person and doing a good job and they were proud of me after MONTHS of being in a pressure cooker, I’d be a huge puddle on the floor. Good for her for just tearing up, imo.
How is “look at Chelsea, all grown up” about Hillary and somehow not about Chelsea? I sense projection. Look, Anchoress, just because you think kids are merely extensions of a parent’s ego does not mean everyone else thinks that way too. Chelsea has grown up very well, and one would expect those who love her to tear up over the observation. Well, assuming one had an ounce of soul, I suppose.
