I’ve given up on the SF Chronicle. For a paper that is distributed in one of the most liberal corners of the US, to open the opinion page almost every day is to be confronted with dickwads like VD Hanson, Debra Saunders, Rueben Naverette and a host of other right-wing nuts. With an occasional rational column by Scheer.

The only rational editorial voice the Chronicle has belongs to cartoonist Tom Meyer. All of the other rational voices in those pages are syndicated.

As for Atlas Shrugged, I prefer Telemachus Sneezed.

Is Galt’s Gulch anywhere near Galt, CA? And yes, the San Francisco Chronicle has been destroyed. It was my daily paper from 1968 until the day Debra Saunders first appeared. I broke my habit just from reading her contrarian drivel. And VD????????? OMG what a fucking idiot. He has a PhD from STANFORD?
