You think Clarence would give up his seat on the bench before being elected Veep? I think he’d take the Joe Lieberman approach and keep his current job as a fallback.

Well, IF McCain lost the election, and Clarence was running as his VP, at least it would get Clarence off the Court. But that’s an awfully big if … because if they didn’t lose the election, the worst Justice in history would have executive branch power. I don’t think I’d want to encourage that.

Do we get to vote? I pick Thomas, who may be the most effective4 conservative in Washington D.C. Of course, he’d have to leave the Court, but he never has much to say anyway.
