Shorter Gateway Pundit:
It is true that your ears burn when someone is talking about you. How weird...

I am proud to say, that for the first time I fought off the burning desire to click the link. Fuck Gateway Pundit, asshole.
Congratulations. It gave me the kind of headache that comes from living in an M.C. Escher painting.
Ahem.
Guy’s a fucking asshole.
Wait, you don’t have that kind of headache all the time? Lucky bastard. I can’t even blame the nitwits.
The crowd over there makes you feel really proud. I swear, that buzzing in your ears after spending a few minutes reading their comments is teh stoopid humming across the intertubes. What was Cheney’s loving term for terminally ignorant people? Oh, right: dead-enders.
What was Cheney’s loving term for terminally ignorant people?
Their base??
That IS America.
When we lived in the UK I knew construction workers who never finished secondary school that were better informed on world events than most of the “educated” professionals I know here.
There is no reason that there is anything you don’t know in modern America.
Anyone with a pulse can register for a library card and use teh Google and teh wiki to learn anything about everything.
Yet the American masses remain willfully, uniquely ignorant of the most basic facts about their country and their world.
Michelle Obama is right and the Gateway Pudwank can go fuck himself.
Fuck you, Gateway Pudwank!
Fuck you, Tipper Gore!
And fuck the PMRC!
They’re (mostly) sentient enough to know it’s all pants, but can’t acknowledge it because the Pavlovian dog-whistle says it’s ok to be a racist again and they can’t stop salivating.
I *still* know construction workers who I’d put up against the brain trust at Gateway Pundit or Powerline on a world events quiz any day of the week. Manual labor doesn’t make someone stupid.
The Only Article About Barack Obama You’ll Ever Need To Read
That wasn’t my point.
The point was that in the age of the intertubes anyone can educate themselves to the degree they choose independent of the “system” and emerge with far greater understanding than those who unquestioningly submit to strict academic regimentation.
Specifically not in America.
I thought that was clear.
Perhaps I could have been more sensitive by omitting the “construction worker” reference and gone with “never finished secondary school” as the sole qualifier of the supra”systemic” achievement of my good friends in the UK who build things and were never given a chance to do otherwise.
Due to the “system.”
Having done my fair share of heavy lifting and building building I am well aware of the fact that manual labor does not make one stupid; the comparison was made to better illuminate the difference between “educated” Americans and “uneducated” Europeans.
I obviously failed in my effort.
I shall endeavor to be more occupationally sensitive in the future.
comsypinko, dsidhe,
I know construction materials I’d put up against Gateway Pundit in any sort of intellectual comparison you’d care to suggest. I can also think of contruction materials I just like to put up against Gateway Pundit. Repeatedly and with considerable vigor.
