Shorter Ross Douthat:
A horrifyingly mutilated, yet living, body might still crawl out of the flaming wreckage that is the Bush years and then he and I shall both be vindicated.
Crawling from the wreckage
Crawling from the wreckage
Youd think by now at least that
Half my brain would get the message
Crawling from the wreckage
Crawling from the wreckage
Into a brand new administration
Well, if InSane McCain gets elected, we’ll all feel like the Hiroshima survivors that were evacuated…
…to Nagasaki.
Douthat seems to be banking on the fact that we’ll elect Zombie Adolph Hitler for president sometime in the next few years.
Then again, maybe Douthat believes the jury is still out on Adolph and we still need more time to evaluate.
If you can’t tell the difference between being trapped in flaming wreckage and being showered with rose petals and candy……. if Condi for VP seems like the obvious fine idea…. then, son, there’s a job waiting for you in the gummint.
Is he still going to think so once the indictments and convictions start coming?
Bush will serve time. In fucking jail.
Dream on. They’ll just say it’s all in the past, move forward, get over it, etc.
I dunno … it’s tough to get the poop back in the toothpaste tube.
Enough has come out already, while they’re still in office, to be pretty certain that there’s a whole lot more. And once it starts unraveling, the brave, uncompromising stalwarts of the Democratic party together with the principled bloodhounds of the press will, in short order, pull the entire nasty mess of crimes and cover-ups into the daylight where it will become a kind of twisted national sport to tease apart the tangled strands of filth and corruption to reveal …
Oh, what the fuck am I talking about? I just re-read the phrase “uncompromising stalwarts of the Democratic party” and clearly I have my head way way up somebody’s ass. Hope it’s mine.
Bush will probably issue a blanket pardon, on 1/19/09, for all members of the executive branch, including himself … all part of the unitary executive … [sob]
Did Scooter spend even one day behind bars? Shrub learned well from his daddy. Caspar’s trial for perjury was set for January. Daddy pardoned Caspar on christmas eve, before he went to trial.

When the dems had working backbones, they wanted to put Nixon behind bars. Resignation or impeachment was not enough. The along comes “healer” Ford that pardoned Nixon. He was so power hungry there was no way Nixon would have resigned if he wasn’t sure of a pardon to stay out of jail. May Ford rot in hell.
This shit will continue to happen until someone is held accountable & put behind bars.
The President can issue pardons “except in case of impeachment”. But if he gets to 1/19/09 and we still haven’t impeached his sorry, lying ass, what keeps him from pardoning the entire executive branch?
And what’s to keep the incoming D Administration from having the lot of them detained for seditious consipiracy? Once they’ve been pardoned for the underlying crimes, they can’t plead the 5th.
I suspect it would be difficult to issue pardons for broad conspiracy charges?
