I was thrilled when my local NPR station changed their newsfeed to BBC and totally ditched NPR. I used to think NPR was the last hope of fair political reporting in the US but the borg has absorbed them too, only with a huge serving of snobby pretentiousness as a tasty side dish.

Cokie Roberts will be a guest on The Daily Show tomorrow but I think Jon Stewart is too much the gentleman to bring up last Sunday’s performance. However, I can always hope it will be a replay of the Chris Matthews interview. He might even bring up her uber-lobbyist brother, Tommy Boggs.

What I love about Cokie (aside from her putting all her asinine partisan rubbish down to the superior morality she has As A Mother:

She was really very snippy about Katrina. Couldn’t imagine why anyone would think that the government could have done more than it did.

A great many of those people (hey, some of them had mothers) who were dehydrating in their own waste were doing it in buildings named after her mother.

I hadn’t realized Cokie, nee Mary Martha Corinne Morrison Claiborne Boggs, would have been about 15 years old when her father, Hale Boggs, signed the Southern Manifesto in 1956… some little ol’ thing about being forced by the Supreme Court to integrate with their negroes.

I was disgusted by her recent condescending performance on Meet the Press. I could hear her snickering while Katrina V was speaking. Snarky “I’m just a little bit superior, Church Lady Bitch”.
I just wanted to smack her.
