Shorter Bill Kristol:
There is something about young Jindal that I like but I can’t seem to put my finger on it…hmmmmm
From the Adovocate:
Smoke and mirrors and lies. It’s the Repulicon way.
…he can no longer be considered a clear favorite over John McCain in the general election.
Given Kristols accuracy it would now appear to be almost a stone cold lock for Obama in November.
Second-order effect. Even I would think of Bobby Jindal as a running mate for McCain because he is well known. But he is well known in part because he is of color.
Jindal is the Republican Obama: young, energetic, minority, and has not been in the office long enough that he is a lock to be considered for the next rung. Don’t know if he can speak.
Bobby Jindal supported the Klan loving republican in Saturday’s runoff race for the open house seat in LA. I am NOT worried about his influence.
In a New York Times/CBS News poll in late February, Obama was defeating John McCain 50 to 38. Two months later, the Times/CBS poll had McCain and Obama tied. The poll that came out yesterday showed Obama reopening a lead over McCain — but clearly over this period a vulnerability for Obama was exposed.
Let’s see, according to the new NYT/CBS poll it’s Obama 51% to McCain’s 40%.
Kristol appears to hanging onto that 1% improvement like a drowning man on a piece of wood.
During Obama’s recent “rough patch,” McCain was a virtual gaffe-a-matic, stumbling and stuttering thru idiotic and/or self-conflicted statements about “Mission Accomplished,” the Minnesota bridge disaster, the rationale for US intervention in the Middle East — plus the ill-received policy proposals on health care and gas prices.
Of course, in the neo-con world view there’s no success like failure, so Maverick John ™ has a fighting chance as long as he remains stalwart in the Stoopid.
If Obama were polling 100% to McCain’s 0%, Kristol would still find a way to make it “good for the GOP.” And you know if it’s in the NYT, it’s gotta be true.
Yeah, Bill. Hillary and Obama are in a cage match because each wants the glory of losing to John McCain. Maybe, though, it’s really because each (and they’re both young enough to wait) figures that they’re not going to be a candidate for the 2012 nomination because a Democratic president will almost certainly be running for re-election then.
Christ. I love my dad, but he was a mere Alabama cracker FAA radar technician with a high-school education. Why couldn’t I have been born to a rich magazine publisher with his nose stuck in the ass of the Establishment?
SPIVEY
Well, it’s a well-run campaign, midget’n broom’n whatnot.
ECKARD
Devil his due.
SPIVEY
Helluva awgazation.
JUNIOR
Say, I gotten idee.
ECKARD
What sat, Junior?
JUNIOR
We could hire us a little fella even smaller’n Stokes’s.
(Pappy whips at him with his hat.)
PAPPY
Y’ignorant slope-shouldered sack a guts! Why we’d look like a buncha satchel-ass Johnnie-Come-Latelies braggin’ on our own midget! Don’t
matter how stumpy! And that’s the goddamn problem right there – people
think this Stokes got fresh ideas, he’s oh coorant and we the past.
Back when it became clear McLame was going to get the gooper nod, I was waiting for a push by the wingers to move the general election up to April or May.
Clearly, the window of opportunity has closed.
McCain-Jindal 2008: When you average them, the ticket is only 67 years old.
Wouldn’t this ticket be risking Jindal as CinC, owing to McCain’s advanced
experienceage? BTW, I hope someone points out to pieface that he doesn’t have a commander in chief because his cowardly ass is not and has not been in uniform.Oh, Jeebus yes. We’re talking about the main PNAC cheerleader here.
