I think we can add Mississippi Senator Roger Wicker to the list that includes Herve Villechaize and McLean Stevenson of people who left good gigs thinking that they could do better:
Former governor Ronnie Musgrove leads appointed Senator Roger Wicker by 8 points, 48% to 40%, in the Mississippi Senate race to fill former Senator Trent Lott’s seat, according to a new poll conducted for the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee. Musgrove is viewed favorably by 57% of the state’s voters, compared to 30% who view him unfavorably.
“Roger Wicker couldn’t keep his own Congressional district from changing hands, and now he’s trailing in his bid for the Senate,” DSCC spokesman Matthew Miller said. “Last week, Mississippi voters showed they are tired of business as usual in Washington and ready for a change, and this poll shows that they are ready for a new Senator to replace Roger Wicker. With gas prices out of control, Mississippians are tired of Roger Wicker taking thousands of dollars from the oil and gas industry and then showering them with billions of dollars in special tax subsidies.”

What’s up with the grimace in the picture? That’s what passes for a smile the Mississippi GOP? It looks like Roger is a star graduate of the Dick Cheney School of Sneers & Jeers. Maybe it’ll work in his future career: “d’ya want fries with that?”
Career opportunities are the ones that never knock
Every job they offer you is to keep you out the dock
Given all the GOP orange jumpsuits now and on the horizon, this isn’t working out so well, either.
I would not buy a used car from that man.
Hey! When did Hugh Hewitt go get a new chin?
That face does not radiate honesty, sincerity, and sanity.
It’s a bit of a jack o lantern look, isn’t it?
What a gargoyle.
Pretty teeth, for Mississippi.
Don’t need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows…
