WTF Happened to Johnson? It wasn’t that long ago he was at TPMcafe, sorta normal blogger. He must of been bitten by something, that NQ site is insane. There is nothing Obama did or stood for the explains that site.

I wonder too. During Plame, he was really good, since he was in her “class” at the CIA. But when he decided to support Hillary over Barack, it’s like he hopped on the Crazy Train.

I’ve been saying it all day and I’ll say it now: If such a tape exists, I don’t care.

Third of all, I’ve got a tape of John McCain saying it’d be OK to stay in Iraq for 100 years! I swear, it exists!

rickmassimo has a great point. Leaving aside all snark what, exactly, is the problem that any democrat or liberal is supposed to have with the tape if it did exist? What if we had a tape of michelle discussing Brown v. board of education in a *loud voice*? Does the sin of being angry about racism erase racism? If only it were that easy we could all get really noisy about stuff and fix it right away. I’ll start–”hey! there are homobigots out there trying to prevent gay people from getting married!” Now, magically, what? No more bigotry?

The point of Johnson’s hyping the tape was to take *white racist* votes away from Obama in the primary and, later, in the general. Were those people unaware that as a democrat and a black guy Obama might have progressive political policies to push? Probably not. so they weren’t going to vote for him anyway. Did they think that Hillary didn’t have a progressive agenda, including affirmative action, to push? If they did they would have been sorely disappointed to vote for her thinking she was going to be all republican.

the whole thing is not only a tempest in a teapot but a total waste of time. I can’t believe that any sentient democrat would have imagined this was a good idea. I wonder if he can come back from the precipice or whether he will end up voting for mccain out of spite.?

I think what it boils down to is that this “tempest” could have only worked in a primary campaign. The bar would be a lot higher in a GE campaign, because the candidates are more different. In a primary, all Johnson and his ilk had to do was convince enough people that “a lot of people out there” will believe it and they’d switch because it would “hurt our chances in the general.” Because Democrats, I hate to say it, run on fear. (Their own, that is, not other peoples’, like Republicans do.)

The apparent change in Larry Johnson is depressing. I have no faith on anything he’s ever said now - although, usually he could back up what he said. I keep peeking in other there, because facts make him and his posters lose their shit.

He actually got angry about being asked for proof. And people noticed - Drudge linked to the blog talking about his changing the story, and then denying he’d said what he’d said.

And the posters all seem to be insane. Obama and the DNC cheated, Hillary won, and she will ascend into heaven. They’re raving about something called “PUMA” . Party Unity My Ass.

Hey, I’m not much of a Democrat and they can tick me off Royally. But I’m I’m not stupid enough to think pouting about anything would be helping anyone but McCain and Bush’s friends. If you’re concerned about the war or women’s issues, and you’d think Hill people would fall in that category, how in the shit do you justify trashing Democrats and voting for McSame?

It’s a Bush bonehead kind of stupidity there. I’ve had my disagreements with her but Hillary Clinton deserves better than that crap in her followers.
