Shorter Bill Kristol:
Baby Alex won’t have to fight in Iraq any more than my three kids will… but let’s just keep that between us so we don’t upset the hoi polloi.

Shorter Bill Kristol:
Baby Alex won’t have to fight in Iraq any more than my three kids will… but let’s just keep that between us so we don’t upset the hoi polloi.
Well really, what kind of American wouldn’t want to sacrifice their child in a foreign war fought to benefit powerful corporate interests?
Once again, criticism of the obsessed crazies who led us into this nightmare is magically conflated with criticism for anyone, anywhere who serves in the military. As the mother of a son, let me spell it out for you: When my country needs to be defended, you can have my child’s life, if he so chooses. When Dick Cheney needs more oil profits, no fucking way.
I’ll be interested to see in the future, when his kids are actually at risk, Kristol’s reaction to some fucking greedy nutcase coming up with a terrific plan to use them for a grand idea he doesn’t agree with.
Will he be expecting that no one would carelessly send them off to bleed and die for someone else’s ego or profit? Or will he be happy that someone just like him thinks they are expendable so the pundit can be paid to talk about his ideas?
Of course he’s counting on there never being a draft so his little kiddies will escape the need to serve their country on the front lines.
William The Cowardly Chickenshit Douche can go fuck himself for the time being.
George Carlin died tonight.
Shit Piss Fuck Cunt Cocksucker Motherfucker Tits.
Some see the glass as half-empty. Others see the glass as half-full. I see the glass as being twice the size it should be.
Requiescant in pace.
Human filth. That’s all Bloody Bill is.
Alert vanderleun: it’s a blockquote, ZOMG.
Meanwhile, Kristol is an unmitigated piece of shit. His concern-troll theme today of selfishness would be laughable had not his own cushy warmongering led to the deaths of hundreds of thousands of innnocent people. Oh, well.
This is the work of a hack propagandist:
Naturally, the ad doesn’t do anything of the sort. Not a bit.
It’s hard to imagine how this fuckwad could be more of a hypocrite.
Imagine a elegant lady perfectly attired, impeccable accessories, except for a tiny mongrel humping her face. That is the Times with Kristol on the op-ed staff.
Hey kidz!…It’s Kristol the Klown Day at Tagg’s Treehouse. Come on over! http://www.tagg-theangrygayguy.com
You must be wearing beer goggles, cause the NYT hasn’t been an elegant lady in years. More like Blanche Dubois in Streetcar Named Desire… with a tiny mongrel humping her face.
Ol’ Bill finally got one right. That is pedantic.
Tell that to those who have been subject to Stop Loss orders. Tell it to National Guard personnel on their third deployment. Tell it to those who have been recalled to active duty.
The all-volunteer army is one of the most cynical gambits I’ve seen in sixty years on the planet. The idea seems to be that they volunteered so they can be fucked just as hard as possible. The rest of America can just go shopping.
Here’s a historical tidbit: during the Vietnam war, draftees and regulars had to serve one twelve month deployment in-country. One. They did not get redeployed to Vietnam, ever, unless they volunteered to do so. Yeah, I was there. And yes, the draft sucked but, it sure as hell focused a lot of people’s attention when it was their baby who was called up.
Yes, but he will be 101 when we finally pull our troops from Iraq, according to McCain’s timetable.
The one way the ad is a bit unfair to McCain is that, unlike chickenhawks like Kristol, he served in combat and has a child serving in Iraq.
Finally, who really has “disdain for those who have chosen to serve,” if not those who sent them into an unnecessary war, fail to provide adequate medical treatment when they are wounded, conduct their funerals in secret, and vote against expansion of the GI bill? Disdain indeed! More like total disrespect!
Kristol’s professed respect for “military service and sacrifice” is rich, considering that he’s done neither. It’s the usual right wing project-my-failures-onto-my-opponent ploy.
UgluksFlea, I agree… the grey lady looks more like some cheap trollop who has pasted on the makeup a little too thick.
Sorry. Just had to fix that.
Another thing I seem to be seeing, and this article does it a bit is put forth the idea that things have already gotten so good in Iraq that it’s like being in Germany or South Korea. If I’m a soldier or marine in Iraq, that probably wouldn’t set well.
I see today a town councilman opened fire on a group of soldiers, killing one and wounding five. That doesn’t happen too often in Seoul or Rheinmein.
This is very true. Another point: Kristol is intellectually dishonest to pretend that because there has been no draft lately, that there will be no draft in the future. It is likely that a draft will be necessary if McCain were to become President. A draft or withdrawal is needed now to stop the systemic abuses that you mentioned.
Would Krystal have reacted differently if yhe MoveOn ad featured an elegantly dressed, oh say a Cindy McCain look alike or sorority sister, saying the same script but ending with,
“but that’s OK, I’m rich and my child will never serve, that’s for those other people”
