John McCain, who has done wonders selecting members of his own campaign, wants to offer his personnel services to Barack Obama:
John McCain said Tuesday that Barack Obama should cut ties with retired Gen. Wesley Clark, who caused a stir over the weekend when he dismissed McCain’s military service as a qualification for the presidency.
Clark is a national security adviser and high-profile surrogate for Obama. On Sunday, Clark — who was also NATO commander under President Clinton — said of McCain: “I don’t think riding in a fighter plane and getting shot down is a qualification to be president.”
He stood by his remarks Tuesday, though he stressed that Obama had nothing to do with them. Obama later downplayed the issue, saying he doesn’t think the comment keeps voters “up at night.”
But McCain told reporters on his campaign plane Tuesday evening that “I think it is up to Senator Obama now to not only repudiate him but to cut him loose.”
Yeah. Right.
Next McCain will ask Obama to "spot him" 12 electoral votes "just to make it interesting".

How could Mr. McCain disparage the military service and patriotism of such a distinguished former NATO commander? For shame!
I’d counter by bringing back Power to the fold.
He really should. For someone who claims he doesn’t “do cowering”, he’s shown a pretty floppy backbone on a lot of issues.
Bringing back Samantha Power has a lot of benefits, one being that it would piss off Larry Johnson and Co.
McCain: “WAAAAH! He criticized me and my manly toughness! Make him go away! WAAAAH!”
Jeebus, how’s this guy gonna stand up to al Qaeda etc. etc.?
I’ll become interested in this when McSame cuts loose all his lobbyist-campaign advisors. I know that means I am asking him to fire nearly his entire staff of advisors, but they’ll land on their feet what with all those fat lobbying contracts they have, so no harm done.
But McCain told reporters on his campaign plane Tuesday evening that “I think it is up to Senator Obama now to not only repudiate him but to cut him loose.”
Oh, yeah! Obama will never “cut him loose” because President Wes Clark is sounding mighty tempting right now! How will McSidney stack up against a real general who’s actually more intelligent than most Ivy-League types?
