Dare I say in the presence of saintly Satchmo and adorable Fenway that I love Beckham the mostest?

Better to stay in with the dogs. I confess to worrying a lot about neighborhood dogs I didn’t even know as I enjoyed some snapping good fireworks in a friend’s yard tonight.

I just got back from a hike up in the Colorado high country close to the biggest city in our square state; being this close to so many means every hike is an adventure is identifying doggie breeds, frequencies of types, etc. As usual, black and yellow labs dominate in number, but one of the last dogs we saw was a pair of chihuahua’s doing their damnedest to try to keep up to their humans.

I’m with you in thinking that non-drunk-other zones are a very good thing.

We had the first monsoon storm of the season last night - big booms and flashy sky lights and wet stuff - Arthur once again attempted to burrow through the wall in order to escape. I look forward to tonight’s artificial version - most likely with gunfire!

Your long, short boys should probably sleep under the bed tonight.

Talk about unhealthy foodstuffs: our local Kroger grocery recalled ground beef this week. We had already purchased and consumed it, so I guess ours wasn’t tainted. They sent out an automated phone call based on the computer records they keep of our purchases using our Kroger savings card. A little Big Brotherish, maybe. Makes me rethink the plan to grill burgers again…

I love the middle dog photo; he has built-in eyeshades! Clever dog!

Uh oh. If there’s anything scarier than satanically-glowering Beckham, it’s Beckham looking like his latest atrocity is about to be discovered. The wide-eyed innocent frowny pose that says (in a voice akin to Kevin Kline apoligizing to an unconscious John Cleese in A Fish Called Wanda) “I’m sorry! I’m sorry! I’m sorry!”…
