Eight times bigger than the old boss
It was merely a coincidence, a fortuitous one at that, that my iPod crapped out like a Doug Feith Congressional appearance today since my birthday is this week, thus sparing the generous and lissome mrs tbogg the agony of shopping for me since I always ask for the same thing.
That would be a pony, you smutty smutty gutterbrains.
So off to the Apple store (the Nirvana of Nerdom) we went and now, instead of being limited to 4400+ songs, I have expanded room for about 35,000 more.
What this means is that Pre-Friday Random Tens are about to become much more… interesting.
The complete Wynton Marsalis Septet: Live at the Village Vanguard, Aida, all 69 Love Songs by the Magnetic Fields, the Complete Studio Recordings of Led Zeppelin, and, yes, there is even plenty of room for Live Phish volumes 5, 12, 13, 14, 16, 18, 19, 20 because everyone needs 29 alternate recordings of Tweezer.
Oh yes.
There will be embarrassment. Deep deep soul-crushing embarrassment…

If you had sprung for a video IPod you could have combined the Thursday night basset blog and the pre-Friday random
1011 and had some extra time for L&TC and the Mrs.Technology is always a double edged sword. Just saying. On the other had, just because you can does not mean you should.
I have one of those. I put every song I’ve ever heard on it, and there is still room for six trillion more tunes plus two thousand movies.
Will you load the entire Red Nichols oeuvre? Do you need to borrow my 78s and teh record player?
i cringe at the crap i get in the random 10’s from my full iTunes collection. those from my iPod are so much better.
it’s the primary benefit of having a collection that’s bigger than your iPod.
I believe all iPods except the Shuffle models have video capabilities. Certainly, the 160GB model our host has acquired has them.
Personally, I keep thinking about getting an iPhone, but the pitiful 16GB storage max keeps me safely away from them.
Happy B-Day from a fellow July baby whose bday is this week too. Birthdays are not as much fun as they used to be, but hey, presents still rock.
