In America, we have some Americans who say we have to sacrifice more American soldiers to make sure the American soldiers already sacrificed didn’t die in vain.

And somehow this makes sense to some Americans.

Which would seem to say a lot about some Americans.

But not the Americans already sacrificed.

Who can’t say anything.

Because they’ve been silenced.

Come on now, that’s incredibly unfair. Everyone knows Bush gave up golf to be down with the troops. Except for the times he didn’t.

I’d like to see A J Strata’s — or any of the wingnutosphere’s — response to this. Just one more war that someone besides G W Bush is fighting and dying in . . .

Just another example of the veracity of the Smartest Thing Anyone Ever Said, namely Mencken’s “No one ever went broke underestimating the intelligence of the American people.”

Of course, as Roy pointed out, we may soon see someone actually become the exception to that rule…

To date there have been 4124 opportunities, related to Iraq alone, where George W. Bush could have taken a few minutes and met with with any one of 4124 families and attended a military funeral.

Imagine for moment a president Carter, Clinton or Obama doing this… there would be an entire show dedicated (with giant counting clocks for both time and bodies) to a media massacre of A Dem president who acted like this..

Obama’s life is logistically insane. To deal with all those helicopters, military protocols, meetings, travel arrangements, etc. he needs a staff. He has two he can use:

1. Campaign Staff
2. Senatorial Staff

Since this was legally a campaign trip, he could not bring his senatorial staff. That would have been illegal. So he brings his campaign staff. Then, after he’s arrived (without his staff from the Senate), the Pentagon says he can’t visit the hospital if he uses his campaign staff. Since he has no other staff, he either doesn’t visit, or you know, as one of the most famous people in the world and a high profile target, just hitchhikes his way to the hospital all by himself in a foreign country.

TBogg’s point is worth remaking. Dubya has spent the last 8 years treating soldiers like campaign props. How many times has he pulled police officers, members of the national guard, fireman, etc. off duty (in a time when they were needed, like Katrina) so that they could pose for pictures with him?

Eight years of juvenile irresponsibility. Fiscal, judicial, and moral. When I see the images like those families I curse my limitations; that I don’t have words or phrases that will cut that pompous manchild right to the core.

But what family would actually want that sociopath to attend the funeral of a loved one (that he is directly responsible for their death)? If that fucker showed his face, I’m sure many people would just love to have a few minutes with our Illustrious Decider. Goddamned malignant piece of shit.
