I haven’t finished GTA IV yet, but have actually been surprised how strong the pro-family message has been in it, not to mention the advancement of no-sex-before-marriage (at least in one major plot line). Also a strong thread of anti-americanism, or at least a sense of bitter disillusionment on the part of the protagonist concerning the immigrant experience and the general boneheadedness and sense of entitlement of americans overall, which I am surprised the wingnuts haven’t jumped on as well (okay, I guess you would have to play it first to notice, and god forbid they actually do their own research).

Okay, admittedly there is a lot of killing. And car theft. And prostitution, if you want. And general mayhem. But there’s still some hard hitting social commentary in there, if you look.
