My comment was meant to imply that the McSame harping about your oil sands is designed to get ‘Murikans thinking that you nice folks are planning on selling that oil to us cut rate, being our northern buddies and all. See, you northern folk have an advantage we don’t have: a reasonably non-brain-dead press.

The tar sands hype down here is kind of like how The Doughy Pantload explained(on NPR no less) away any need to respond to global warming with his theory that humans have always adapted to change by such things as picking up and moving. I think he was implying that once you can grow mangoes in Edmonton, we’ll be heading north to become the obnoxious relative who moves into your guest room and never, ever leaves.

Makeitstop,
We here in Canuckistan are already your largest foreign provider of oil (go ahead, look it up, we can wait —-yeah, yeah, you’re welcome) without the oil sands being in play, which is just as week since the Chinese have already pretty much bought the oil sands

Grassy Knoll Nation?

Kinda catchy, but antiquated, given that the original “Grassy Knoll Nation” consisted of two members of the Warren Commission.

Ah, yes, Canadian tar sands. My Canuck buddies say they are more than a bit of a mess and require huge volumes of water to process while doing a nice imitation of Dante’s Inferno or Mt. Doom. Plus I doubt they plan on selling the output to us at under market, rather than just doing what every other oil producer (including the US) does: selling it on the global market at the going rate. The invisible hand apparently has forgotten that it is supposed to be stroking the rethug wang on this issue.

Tar sands! Oil shale! Vast Undiscovered Reserves™

McSame’s handlers are going to have to come up with an energy policy that demonstrates that he can too think outside the box! Something way more original than tire pressure guages. Just out of curiosity, what is the mpg for magic unicorns these days?

They’re trying to figure out how to turn this obvious political hit-job into a, how shall I frame it, a “How To” lesson. Subtly. Or not.

Okay tbogg, it’s kinda scary that you would even think of that BEFORE the rethugs came up with it. Is it the pain meds, or can you actually put your mind in a rethug frame? You know, like those serial killer profilers that learn to think like the killers in order to catch them.

It’s quite an impressive skill tbogg, but you might want to be careful. Too much rethug thinking and you’re gonna go bat-shit crazy.

And, if they just keep jawboning, the price of gas will keep coming down, down, down, until Big Oil pays us to pump the stuff!
