Taking a tip from the Paultards, what was once a movement is now a Revolution:
#dontgo Movement Crashes Washington
That’s right… on October 1st, 2008, the #dontgo Movement web presence will convene in an offline environment to rally in Washington DC. This rally is being planned in celebration of the American Energy Freedom Day currently supported by a plethora of free-market groups and organizations. The #dontgo Movement encourages each and everyone of you to join us on the hill at 10:00 AM as we rally in support of a free-market stance on drilling, and demand that Congress begin actually working for Americans rather than themselves.
It is strongly recommended that you make travel arrangements early on, and be sure to have signs prepared for the event. #dontgo Gear is available AT COST, and of course, you’ll want to arrive armed with Blackberry’s and iPhone’s ready to live tweet the rally.
A $19 #dontgo t-shirt at cost? Only $19? $19? How many can I buy? Sign me the fuck up!
Actually the thought of a bunch of polo-shirted and be-Dockered Next Right warriors "armed" with their latest electronic dohickeys, heads down, frantically "live tweeting" ZOMG! Oilrulz!!1!!! at a rally is kind of adorable as far as revolutions go.
"Aux barricades!", Scooter, Prentiss, and Heather. On Oct 1, 2008, blood will flow in the streets, angry cries for justice will fill the air, torchlight will light the sky and later the Zima will flow like…. more Zima.

Is it just me, or does the “#dontgo Movement” sound like a support group for chronic diarrhea sufferers?
That’s right… on October 1st, 2008, the #dontgo Movement web presence will convene in an offline environment to rally in Washington DC.
And, in their matching T-shirts, they’ll be simply adorable, like those tourist groups that travel in matching clothing. I wonder if they’ll have a rope to hold onto , so no one gets lost…
I haven’t checked out the T-shirts yet, but my guess is they read “I’m with Stupid” with an arrow pointing to their right.
Hmmmm, the ‘#dontgo Movement”. Sounds like a problem that could easily be addressed with a little Ex-Lax. Of course, they are all full of shit.
I think they’ve been further reduced to two for thirty eight. Now I’m in.
‘…#dontgo Movement web presence will convene in an offline environment to rally in Washington DC”
Wow. You just can’t make this stuff up.
I must confess, I first read that “offline environment” (whatever that is) as “office environment”, which I assume is the Twits natural habitat. I suppose it’s more likely that the “offline environment” is a banquet room in some hotel.
I believe tha I already mocked the incredibly shitty website these Twits put together. Although I wish I had captured a screen shot of the original site, someone has clearly brought in some astroturf professionals now, its not nearly as geeky. On the original, the Tshirt hawking was prominent. Anyone save the original?
I predict seething throngs of a dozen all wearing matching #dontgo t-shirts and highwater pants. They should provide endless amusement to all innocent bystanders.
ZOMG!!1!! Yet another rightwing electrical computing device power movement. I give it until Congress gets back from vacation when they will realize that their sole purpose in life has just become a moot point. (Yawns)
does anyone have a link to Tbogg’s eulogy of his first basset? I read it once and for the life of me I can’t remember the dog’s name. It was a wonderful tribute that I want to share with my sister who just lost hers.
Here you go.
thank you tbogg. You’re a gentleman and a scholar. BTW, I await a book from you. Any book, any topic. You deserve to write and be read for a living. I posted this request on the post above. feel free to remove it. Once again, thanks.
(Emphasis added.)
Boy, they sure have faith in the effectiveness of their movement. They anticipate that in another two months Congress still will not have even started doing what they’re asking for.
“currently supported by a plethora of free-market groups and organizations”
ha ha ha ha a hheeee heheeheheheeee.
OMFG.
How many?
I’m immediately suspicious of anyone who uses the word,’ plethora’.
I’m thinking “plethora of nitwits” might be the exception to the rule….
but … if the whole “don’tgo” thing has to do with asking Congress to NOT take their regularly scheduled August break … and this (ahem) “movement” is going to happen in October … then … well … isn’t Congress going to be back by then, rendering the subject moot???
god, these people.
and frankly, I don’t think you should have “don’tgo” and “movement” in the same sentence. but that’s just me.
plethora: 1541, a medical word for “excess of body fluid,” from L.L. plethora, from Gk. plethore “fullness,” from plethein “be full” (see poly-).
So the #don’tgo people have an excess of body fluid, or, to put it slightly differently, they are full of it.
Actually, that definition might make a nice t-shirt for them.
I wonder how the military recruiters are doing. Perhaps they could be notified of the “plethora” of eligible warm bodies, perhaps for our “Great Next War”?
Oh, it’s nice to start the morning with a giggle.
Because the free market (Wide) stance has worked out so well for health care and home mortgages.
“Offline environment?”
Oh, these fucktards are funny!
Be sure to make use of the link to the T-Shirt store that Tbogg has so generously provided; they don’t seem to be moderating comments there. If anything, mine seems to have resulted in an attempt to provoke a fight. Will wonders never cease. And for such an impressive movement, the site seems about as dead as The Victory Caucus.
Who will cry for poor little Gavroche?
…and apostrophes. A metric fuckton of ‘em.
Hit a strange note at the end. I mean, do even Republicans drink Zima?
I’m WAAAAY late to this party, but unless they scrub comment #15 (I think) they let me leave this:
“Gosh! Thanks for the cool gear that make it clear that no, I won’t go! I never thought I’d find it right on this web site! Keep up the good work!”
Don’t they understand?
