CSBA’s acting director Dan Walden refused to discuss the Emery search, but said that uncovering fakery wasn’t the firm’s job.

Nobody is bashing Bristol (just fyi, the entire post here is about Levi and Sandra — there’s no mention of Bristol at all, so cut the concern trolling already), we’re merely empathizing with her: she’s seventeen, her mom is a wing nut and her babydaddy is perhaps not the sharpest cheese on the cracker. And she lives in Alaska…

Meanwhile, the notion of the entire GOP being some drug-inspired piece of performance art is brilliant. Remember how moderate “concerned” democrats would claim for years (without bothering to do anything much about it) that Dubya really wasn’t as stupid as he appeared to be, that the clueless “nukular” persona was really the disguise of a terribly cunning man?

Well, bullshit. Dubya’s brain is as much stage dressing as his cod piece: all stuffing, no action. That doesn’t mean he wasn’t playing pretend, it simply means that hidden behind the goofy guy with the bulging pants and the macho swagger on the aircraft carrier hid a clueless idiot with a small dick… certainly still troubling, but scary in a different way.

I think this post is too harsh. Bristol Palin is younger than Casey and I feel like this post, and some of the previous posts, splash over on Bristol Palin. I feel nothing for her except vague good wishes and don’t want to say anything that tends to belittle her. As great a wordsmith as TBogg is, and as wise as he is, surely he can slap around the mother without hitting the daughter.

I don’t care that the Republicans are using Bristol Palin as a prop. The fact that they are slime who are using her in a stunt doesn’t relieve us of our obligation to treat her decently.

The hockey aspect of it is completely fitting. The Xcel is a hockey arena for the MN Wild. MN governor TPaw is a hockey player too and had a Levi-style f-word screwup broadcast over the Xcel sound system one night:

All 30 National Hockey League teams were back in action Wednesday after a year of labor unrest. The script called for the governor to say: “It’s time to drop the puck. So everybody say it with me - ‘Let’s play hockey!”‘ It was the governor’s tripping over the word “puck” that provoked the snickers.

The only weird and out of place thing going on in the Xcel is the gathering of christofascists, and the outlying police state infesting downtown St. Paul.
