Bingo. The Republican politicians and their pet pundits (the ones with national columns and who are on network teevee) have to at least pretend to care about commoners, but when you get down in the lower tier the Schiffrens sometimes let the mask slip.

And at the bottom of the barrel you get the ones like TIDOS Yankee who are blind (willfully or not) to the fact that they’re among the crowd getting economically screwed over.

Would she be interesting in offering any of those good reasons? Because the only one I know of is “It’ll cost a lot.” And I kind of discount that one since it’s coming from assholes who thought the Iraq war would pay for itself and *still* aren’t willing to do the math on it *or* the bailout. If they won’t even contemplate that the bailout as proposed will cost too much, they have no credibility on this.

No more beating around the bush.

My objection to having either McCain or Obama playing a big role in this bailout is this: because they both need votes now, they have too great an incentive to pander to the lower middle classes, those with foreclosed homes, or late student loans or car loans — or any of the undesirable economic problems that people have already tried to incorporate into this finance-sector bailout.

While Bush, unhampered by the need to campaign, is free to pander to the people who REALLY matter: Investment banks and insurers, and their Corporate Officers in need of spare golden parachutes.

No matter the next antic McInsane springs on us, just remember how Sarah Ailin became the most perfectest Repube ever in about 45 minutes, all while reading some other person’s script off a teleprompter. I now understand how Hitler was able to do what he did after watching the extreme sheeple behaviour of Repubes regarding Mooselini.

It’s reasonable to assume that one of the names on the Repube ticket will not be there election day, and Mittmo Romnutz has been hanging around John-boy a lot in recent days. They’ll try to portray The Tax Whisperer as the perfect person to solve the financial clusterfuck, and Repubes will sing along like nothing just happened. BigMedia will then fellate both men until the V*agra runs out.

Considering the extreme desperation moves so far from St. John, this scenario seems plausible. We must remain vigilant and work harder now more than ever. We know fer shure now that they’ll try anything. Absolutely anything.

Or–given that is, after all, George W. Bush–this is like asking the alcoholic to hide the booze from himself.
