MrsTbogg: the L&T C needs to enlist a centre-half on the squad who is a paid-up member of the centre-halves’ society (motto: get your retribution in first.)

Poor Fenway. Wondered if it might be a retained puppy tooth — those are relatively easy/cheap to get rid of & the adult tooth usually grows in just fine once the antibiotics take effect — but no such luck, I guess.

(Poor Casey, too, but she seems to be quite capable of taking care of herself!)

The L&T Casey has given in to the halcyon world of Vicodin, but is still extremely perturbed that a blind side hit when she “didn’t even have the ball”, and “should have been a yellow card” is going to break her streak of collegiate game appearances. We are feeling those perturbed vibes all the way across the Pacific ocean….. “god d#$n, stupid b#$%h, when we play them again I’m going to….” you get the picture. I give Tbogg full credit for the salty language although he will beg to differ.
Fenway is fine. A bad case of the dog equivalent of “trench mouth” or just a really bad bacterial infection of no known origin. Great….general anesthesia, tooth cleaning and tongue scraping, and $500 later, no known origin. And it could come back. Whoever said that we had paid for Dr. Marvil’s vacation home…you’re right. But he takes wonderful care of the mutts so it’s okay.
And Sarah Palin is still retarded. Not even Dr. Marvil-dog superhero-could fix that.

Having had a Siamese cat with wallpaper peeling breath it turned out to be abscesses and the removal of several teeth and antibiotics. She’s fine now, toofy-wise, at least. She’s now got a kidney infection and has to be wrapped up in a towel like a papoose and get vile tasting antibiotic drops shoved down her throat. It’s a wonder she hasn’t clawed my throat out while I sleep…

Best wishes for both of your patients — I’ve had one bone bruise in my life and I fervently pray to never, ever have another.

Dental person here. If it is an abscess, then antibiotics are coming. In a person, you’d have them on them for at least a few days to get the infection under control because if the gums/bone are too infected, the anesthetic isn’t adequately effective (it’s a pH and biochem thing - trust me on this). For a Bassett, they’ll have him under a general no matter what so the solution to the whole issue will arrive sooner than with a human, with more antibiotics as he heals.

Ribs require the tincture of time, so there is no easy fix there. Everyone be gentle with each other; I wish I could get that across to the whole of humanity but you know how it goes.

Great gosh almighty, that Fenway is clever! Never thought I’d have anything in common with him, healthwise, but I too have an abscessed tooth and get to have a root canal in a week or so. Note the Pollyanna-ish phrase “get to”: at least there’s insurance, thank G-d.

On the weekend, a flight attendant spilled a whole glass of ice water into my lap while I was dozing, and I barely budged. Stranger things have happened. I’ll stay out of TMI-Land…

Best wishes to all. If I tried to step on the manly Mr. Biscuitbarrel while HE was sleeping, I don’t like to imagine what would happen.

Isn’t is marvelous that Beckham is doing his job as a big brother and communicating with the humans? He can’t possibly be Cheneyesque…he’s an intelligent BASSET.

Casey–sending you healing thoughts. There seems to be a lot of players I have to do that for these days.

The Lady Utes soccer team (Univ. of Utah) is playing UC San Diego this week; wasn’t that the team that had the “come to jeebus” coach that you wrote about some time ago? Whatever happened to him?
