Vampire Weekend is The Monkees of world beat music.
That just might be the most annoying song ever recorded. Here, lemme give it a shot … I’ll take a simple beat, three chords, make sure it’s double time add in incomprehensible lyrics, and BAM! Hit song.
Listening to that shit was almost as bad as listening to a Palin speech.
BTW, fuck Humboldt County. Nothing but a bunch of sour old dipshits live up that-a-way.
Now get the fuck off my lawn!

First time here. Came here from this satisfyingly snarky comment you left on Jennifer Rubin’s Commentary Magazine bile dump on Chris Buckley.
“Jennifer- You forgot to put “unrepentant” in front of “terrorists”. No Palin Points for you. Sorry. Those are the rules…”
Almost perfect. I’d have gone for the more Palinesque “Them’s the rules,” but I won’t nitpick. It’s more than good enough to deserve a music tip.
Super Furry Animals. They’re Welsh. “Rings Around the World” is their magnum opus (the tracks “Run, Christian, Run” and “Presidential Suite” are good places to start), but almost anything of theirs is A+.
