All the kids in the nieghborhood called her “Aunt Gladys”. She always had these butterscotch hard candies that she would give to the kids if they asked. We would ask virtually every day. One day, Aunt Gladys asked my brother and I to weed her garden and if we did she would give us “a big surprise!” So we spent about an hour weeding her garden and we did a great job.
