I had kind of hoped to avoid this whole Joe the Plumber thing, but I now see that the "destruction" of Joe Wurzelbacher was part of something bigger; shutting up a source who could finally make the Ayers/Obama story explode in ways that Stanley Kurtz couldn’t imagine:

The tip, and this is just a tip, but it’s coming from someone reliable:
The problem in this story is twofold. Without wanting to provide details, the story really needs a second source.

The second problem is that anonymity — no names, no pictures– is requested. He fears retaliation and harassment. And who knows — perhaps more.
Media may get away with going single-source on this, or anonymous sources, but not both single-source and anonymous.
So here’s the day’s twist: Believe it or don’t.
The source was considering dropping his demand for anonymity. Thus likely moving the story forward. (He wasn’t considering going forward with the Politico, by the way: but with the other, more important organization.)
And now, today? After witnessing Politico, among others, savage Joe Wurtzelbacher?
Cold feet.
The Politico has this story. They’ve had it for a while. They don’t want to run it with the guy’s anonymity kept intact.
Gee, I wonder why he wanted to keep that?
They’re willing to endlessly vet anyone who even asks Barack Obama a question, but not Barack Obama himself.
I can pretty much understand the media’s reluctance to allow anonymity — except for the fact that the media so gleefully engages in the witness intimidation that prompts the request for anonymity in the first place.
As of now, the story appears dead.

Damn, and we’re still waiting for Larry Johnson’s many scoops on Obama to be released… remember those? Starting with the STUNNING video of Michelle chanting “kill whitey”? It was sure to be released by the GOP when the going gets tough, but now that the going is decidedly tough for Krusty & Barbie it has simply vanished. And now it’s the Ayers witness. Next thing you know, there’ll be no-one to corroborate the Nat’l Inquirer’s story about Obama’s supposed pedophile relationship. Fancy that — they’ve had some really classy ones on hand lately.
It can’t be that the facts are AWOL; it must just be that Kenyan Islamo-mojo he’s got going — scary shit, like voodoo; makes people shut up real good. It’s just so tough being an upstanding, diligent citizen journalist these days. It must be tempting to simply pull stories out of your ass instead…
I’m sure TechDude will be along any minute now with proof that Obama’s birth certificate is a fake.
The plot runs ever deeper: not just the clandestine Ayers-Obama Global Domination pact, but the army of Islamofascist Kenyan Plumbers who will inflict inferior solder joints and substandard sewer lines on a hapless populace.
The witnesses have been intimidated, yes, and the evidence, soooooo incriminating, has been sealed into a capsule and buried in an abandoned uranium mine in an undisclosed location, also home to a man-sized safe.
There is absolutely no evidence for any of this. CLEAR PROOF of a global conspiracy!

What Ace and the rest of the hysterical rightwingers cannot understand or believe, is that NO ONE GIVES A SHIT ABOUT AYERS! All of those focus groups that cable and the networks did after the debate showed this. But smear the other guy is all they have; it is the only thing they know to do. Hell, it has always worked in the past, they’re thinking, and they cannot believe it won’t work on the black guy.
If the polls are correct, and Obama actually wins big, the wingnuttery is gonna be downright scary. They are not going to take it well.

Damn….I was kind of hoping that Ace would embarass himself again. Maybe he can collaborate with the Con Wankster and tie in Beauchamp to Ayers, then Malkin could do a comparative analysis of their counter tops.
I’m not so sure this deserves the Golden Wingnut award. Here’s a terrific audio/video of a radio talk show ranting about Obama replacing the blue field of stars on our flag with an “O” design, with the intention of making us all stand up and pledge to THAT ONE. Except if you scroll down to the bottom of the page and see the picture and the explanation (or if you were paying attention in high school history class), you just really want these people to go take a Valium.
Here, I feel, is another “investigation” that is worth mentioning; Michelle Obama’s “white racists” tape and it’s subsequent cover-up by the shadow organization run by Barack and his minions (Posted at Sadly No!). Savor the uncut crazy!

For shame tbogg. Ace is a gallant patriot forced to chose between the future of his country and his life. And here you are just taunting the poor bugger while he wrestles with the biggest decision of his blogging career if not his ability to stay above room temperature.
I say he should run with it and if the Thugocrary comes for him in the night, then at least his name will live on in history as a true martyr to the cause.
If he doesn’t, well then words like “pussy” and “blowhard” spring to mind.
And even if he does, then phrases like “complete twat” and “drama queen” also spring to mind.

One can only imagine the gallons of flop sweat generated by Ace Hole before he stumbled across an excuse for not having to put his money where his mouth is. Larry Johnson would have traded his seekrit CIA decoder ring for that.
