According to a reliable source, by which I mean my wife, a Republican spokesperson said the clothes would be “donated to charity” after the election. This likely means auctioning them off. I imagine Rich Lowry would fork over quite a sum for her debate getup. [I disclaim all responsibility for any mental images this causes you and will not offer compensation for any brain bleach expenses incurred.]

I agree. Especially if Palin intends to run for office again in 2012 - she’ll have to finish out her governor term in AK, and that doesn’t leave a lot of time for being a Faux news regular anchor/contributor. Nor does being a Fox Anchor Babe enhance her “seriousness” and “credibility” for future office.

I can see her going the Fox News route in 2013 though.

Even if the IRS recognizes this as an official job category, I still doubt she’ll be able to write off the clothes as a “uniform” expense. The IRC case law to date militates against this.

Nah, she ain’t going back. She’ll be on Faux News with her own show in a heartbeat. She needs the attention and like Huckabee, when she finds out how much better the pay is in TV than politics she’ll flip in a heartbeat.
