When the history of the 2008 election is written, I hope a chapter will be devoted to the truly terrible spokespeople of the McCain campaign who nightly humiliate themselves in front of the American public while trying to sell shit as shinola. The fact that they even let Michael Goldfarb talk to the press is amazing. Goldfarb?
I guess after you’ve burned through Tucker Bounds, Carly Fiorina, Jennifer Millerwise-Dyck (above), and rictus-faced Nancy Pfotenhauer you have to go with the bullshitters you have, not the bullshitters you wish you had.

Don’t forget Nicole Wallace. She flipped out today on “Morning Joe”. They were discussing this stupid remark by Biden concerning an international crisis that he guarantees will occur immediately after the inauguration. (STFU Joe!) So Nicole had her talking points and she was going to get em out no matter what. They could not stop this woman. She just kept on talking right over their attempts to stop her, staring straight ahead, with this really weird look in her eyes. Looks like she is just barely hanging on by her toenails.
The Joe crew ended up laughing at her. When the freakin’ Cup of Joe morons are guffawing in your face, you might as well give it up.
It’s like a squad of nitwits that are pushed out of the trench to see if the enemy machine gun is still working. The smartest gooper of all is the guy who quit McPOWs campaign rather than be part of this pumping of sewage.
I just wish they would bring Meghan back. At least she has nice boobies.
Oh, I’m sorry. Was that sexist?
rictus-faced Nancy Pfotenhauer
This looks like a job for Dr. 90210! Oh, wait…
I think that, by even having a spokesmodel named Nicole Wallace, McCain lost the coveted Law & Order:CI vote…
Rictus-faced?
Did that dipshit say “King Jong Il” (near the end of the tape)? It’s a shame when they can’t read at all and have to memorize their talking points from an oral recitation by somebody else.
That’s what I said!! Rictus-faced????!!! LOL!!!! Just early voted. the poll workers were nice. Helpful. Good atmosphere all around. Took about 45-50 minutes from getting on line to getting done. the ballot was shitty. Two pages , front and back.
Too slow but
Fitz!
anyway
(a little Midwestern news)
I have been saying that the R’s fielded the “B” team for this election cycled, but I am afraid that assessment needs downgrading
They don’t even look like they believe what they’re saying any more. They’re like parking meters, chattering for the next slug.
I have been over on pollster a lot. The trolls there don’t even realize that they are likely driving away moderates and even some conservative Republicans at a rate of 5:1. The disgusting things they’ve said about Obama’s grandmother are disgusting (that her broken hip was a minor injury, a “publicity stunt”, that O ‘ra*ed” her, that it was insurance fraud, etc.). Seniors would be repulsed by such idiocy.
Maybe it’s actually a sign that they are cognizant of the massive losses they are going to confront on November 4th…so they are simply venting, knowing that they can’t actually win. So they are just getting more disgusting…spitting in everyones faces. If they were actually close they’d possibly be using more “sugar”.
I believe that rictus is a consequence of a slight overdose of Botox (Clostridium botulinum)
Jennifer Dick???? Never heard.
All they have left is hate and ignorance.
…
Of course, that’s all they had in the first place.
I’m still not comfortable.
Thanks TBogg.

jeez, I don’t get the critisism, ya she had talking points that are rediculous but she was hit with a curve ball that could not be hit and handled it really well
ayers is what she’s payed to talk about, it is a non issue, what do you think she’s gonna do when you hit her with “mccain’s advisor paled with ayers too”
do you think she’s gonna make policy for mccain?
no, she handled that fine, she had nowhere to go and said so without conceding the point
then she got into the “why not tax breaks for everyone” bit and NOBODY took her to task, NOBODY had a ANY response for her at all much less the correct response
I think with what little she has to work with she did just fine
And all you need to do is ask Mike Murphy who that guy is, and he’ll gladly tell you!
Also Todd Harris.
She didn’t know who the Annenbergs are? Handled it well? Not even close.
So, we win in a couple weeks, then what?
The business of governing is (no joke) hard work. And with the legacy Bush is leaving, it’s going to be unbelievably hard fucking work. Even after the toxic stink of the Repub’s campaign has dissipated, Obama’s gonna need a lot of people watching his back.
I suspect we’ll be seeing a few FDL posts about that soon.
Just gotta give kudos to Chris Kofinis. He has been excellent during this campaign. Way to go, Chris!
When your own party (who can do denial quite well, thank you!) starts telling you your campaign is a total joke, well, better begin looking for the exits…
Phoning it in through the not brightest light on the tree.
To puree metaphors.
The bright side of the McCain campaign is that it will go into the history books to study as one of the worst ever. I guess that will be some comfort to John.
Mamas don’t let your babies grow up to be Tuckers.
There are 10s of thousands of ATMs across our country. Despite the isolated instances of malfunction, the ATMs pretty much do their job without much trouble. Why in the f*ck don’t voting machines, you know the things that ultimately determine the winners (save the 2000 election), work properly? These Secs of State have had two f’n years to do something. The length of time that has passed and the despicable lack of concern or intentional neglect by these people should be criminal. It’s theivery!
[getting down now from my soap box]
Looks like the McCain campaign’s spokespeople are almost as sharp as its VP choice.
The GOP is going to be after Obama every minute of every day if he is elected. Worse than they were when Clinton was in office. I pray we at least end up with a voting majority in both houses of congress or it is going to be even rougher going for Obama.
It seems to me Obama explained the situation with Ayers pretty clearly directly to McCain and the american people during the last debate. Yet the GOP continues as though nothing has ever been said about this harping that Obama still needs to address the Ayers issue day in day out. I think they have lost their message which really is a non-message trying to confuse voters. It proves they have nothing left and no strategy to go after Obama for anything that holds any water. Every day they talk about this instead of something that resembles a real issue that matters to the voters their credibility and interest dissipates further with anyone that might consider voting for McCain.
What I couldn’t figure out was how this ’spokesperson’ didn’t know that Ayers was on the Annenburg foundation board. Here she is saying I wish you would have told me? I’m sure she is because then she could have asked for the talking point. I could have come up with a better answer than “duh, gee I haven’t been programmed on what to say about that!” line of spew.
I agree. I wonder why Obama didn’t pick him up? He seems sharp and useful.
Jennifer Budwise-Dyck’s voice is certainly as grating as the Drilla From Wasilla’s. Yeesh…
Who says he didn’t get picked up?
Drilla from Wasilla? God, I love that!
I think it’s “sporksperson”. As in spoon/fork: the spoon-fed media has finally stuck a fork in ole Johnny boy: he’s done.
The solution to this is for us to support financially the New Media, and get others not yet here off the Conglomerate Media teat. The Repub reindeer games only work when the BigMedia repeat the lies over and over without any question whatsoever. Let’s make them irrelevant.
Please spread far and wide!
I call her “GodzDrilla from Wazilla”
OMG, I am _so_ glad you pointed it out. Hilarious.
I can’t believe she’d never heard about the Annenberg issue. Ironic in light of her, “I don’t know if any of you were paying attention to what John McCain was saying in Florida today…” I guess it’s only the rest of us who have to pay attention.
Epic fail. Once again.
The good news, though, is that the anchor brought it up. That was a surprise, and I loved how idiotic she looked (No, Lisa, you may not phone a friend), and how she tried to play the victim like he just sprung it on her. Um, everyone I know is aware of the Annenberg connection. You know, regular people who aren’t paid to know these things. Obviously the anchor would assume she knew about it, and not have to prep her before hand. Pathetic.
Plausable deniability got her through the moment and she handled the whole thing pretty smoothly. Not bad for a McCain spokes-liar. Considering what she has to work with. Do I believe she didn’t know about the Annenburgs? Nah.
She kept insisting that there was more to the call. Something about meeting without pre-conditions and other oft repeated talking points. She was incorrect. For the record, below is the transcript of the entire call.
Brazen lies uttered with complete confidence ain’t no way to go through life.
Is it me or do the women GOP spokespersons seem generally nastier than their male counterparts? I marvel at how vicious some of these women are as they lie and smear while managing to keep their smiles turned on. The spokesmen at least seem to have reached the conclusion that this is a hopeless task and don’t seem to take their jobs as designated liars nearly as seriously as the women that get trotted out
We have the know-how to hold valid elections. We lack the political will.
I can’t answer your question, but vicious-with-a-smile is their stock in trade. There are times when I would loooove to just slap Dana Perino’s smirking little face.
My wife and I voted by absentee ballot-I have heard way to many horror stories about the touch screen voting machines here in Tx to ever trust them again-way back in the first week of Oct. I pity the states that only vote on nov 4. Something like 32 states have early voting. Personally, I think that the entire country should follow the Or. vote by mail idea. I believe that overall you would get lots more people voting. Example, horrid variety; last spring(may) we had a local school board vote. Less than 3% of registered voters, voted. 3 months later when that school board voted to close several school due to declining enrollment, thousands came out to protest. Oh yeah, we also have a continuing 30% annual drop out rate. WTF is this country coming to? 120 years ago a HS diploma ment something and a HS graduate actually knew important things about the US and the world. Civics,gone-geography, gone-govt-,gone-history, american and world, gone. Back when I was in the 8th grade(1961) we had 1 semester of Russian History, can you imagine any other school at that time teaching Russian History? Any public schools teaching Chinese history? How about Chinese culture? Language? Hello!! Knock Knock!! Our schools suck! I don’t believe that any HS grad in the entire US could pass a test from the HSs of 120 years ago. They taught Latin, spelling, writing, english, composition, geography, math. None of these things are being taught now. You can take a calculator to a math test! What on earth does that do, other than teaching a person how to punch a button. Can they do the math without a calculator? Can they do research without a computer? Can they write a paragraph by hand without spelling errors? Deportment anyone? The american century is over, like the decline and fall of the roman empire, the US is now in decline and heading for the final fall. Crap! I feel like I am shouting at a brick wall. Not only do parents not understand, they just don’t freekin care.(BTW, my wife and I raised 4 kids. The ave size of their HS classes(total grads) was 30. Student/teacher ratio was 3 to 1. My kids did learn all the things that any student of 100 years ago would have understood. My youngest is still in University, but like the other 3 she skipped a year and will get her Masters in Computer Science witha double in Math in 4.5 years. My other 3 kids all got advanced degrees in hard science in less than 6 years. They all stated that the first year was pretty much a waste of time, so they all just took the end of course tests and passed easily. There are public schools out there-like the one my kids went to, high tax base, few students-but they are very few and far between.
