1. The occasion of a faked hate crime on the right compels me to pull out of my ass remind everyone of the fact that most faked hate crime is on the left. No other lesson could possibly be drawn from this, and I’ve thought it over really hard for a long time so I know.

2. We all know that liberals complain of fake hate crimes, because liberals complain of real hate crimes.

Yes, left, minority and other groups are by far more often subject to hate crimes than the right wing extremists. So why would they NEED to create “false incidents” as GROUPS? There are plenty of legitimate incidents.

When I was a member of a progressive group on a fairly liberal campus we had dozens of incidents occur. Stacks of our quarterly publication were stolen from campus newstands. We had supporters at a protest chased and nearly run down by a car that drove off the road onto a lawn. Nazi and racist graffitti was almost annually placed on the walls outside our offices. An exhibit was torn down overnight with the remnants scattered over the quad.

It was standard operating procedure and well known that the YAF and Young Republicans..who gravitated to several fraternities…used such acts as “initiation tasks” for pledges.

I breathlessly await McMegan’s upcoming expose on Obama supporters slashing the tires on cars with Obama bumperstickers to make McCain supporters “look bad”…as if they’re not managing to do it all on their own.

No one could have anticipated that whipping a bunch of wingnuts into a pseudo-patriotic froth and then telling them that you’re proud of them would lead to bad outcomes.

Before we became the party of the Scary Black Man, the rightwing had us labeled as the San Francisco gay hippie party, and considering the Keyboard Kommandos like to think they could take out an entire brigade of Russian soldiers with a single cheeto, it was pretty hard to find a rightwinger who would admit that they could get their ass kicked by a dirty fucking hippie, whether the story was true or not.

We don’t have anthrax letter senders or abortion clinic bombers. Stories of left-wing violence were previously hard to fake. What was someone going to claim? That Graham Frost and a gang of 12 year olds beat them up? The rightwing would LOVE to be able to fake endless amounts of left-wing hate crimes, but the stories just wouldn’t be believable.

On the other side, when your party is well-known for dragging black men to death with your car or chaining gay men to fences until they die, you kinda open yourself up to the possibility that some attention whore can make up a believable story about your party’s violence.

What is a left wing hate crime anyway? When you paint a crossed-out swastika on someone’s door?

Seriously, aside from that, can that distaff Chuck Nevitt name any other example? Does she know about the two most glaring actual, (all to real and definitely unfaked), examples that Nylund mentioned, along with the myriad of others? Will she ever, even accidentally, stumble onto a clue?

But while a few of them have been faked by student groups looking for attention, as far as I can tell the overwhelming majority are disturbed people looking for attention from their ideologically supportive peers….
