Diversity Is Our Strength, Until the Executions Begin [Kevin D. Williamson]
Interesting column today from John Kass: A 14-year-old girl in a McCain shirt was told she should either be burned alive or "crucifixed" [sic]. It was part of an experiment to test the tolerance of her teachers and classmates; the next day she wore an Obama T-shirt and experienced rather different results.
The whole embarrassing story here. The children of the good liberals in Oak Park are a living testament against their parents.
Unlike the parents in Rexberg, Idaho (America’s Family Community!) who have instilled in their children the simple values of small town America:
Controversial words spoken by kids on a school bus have some Madison County parents concerned.
Matthew Whoolery and his wife aren’t blaming the school district for what happened on the bus but they do think all parents need to be careful about what they say and teach their children.
Whoolery and his wife couldn’t believe it when their second and third graders got off the bus last week and told them what other students were saying.
"They just hadn’t heard anything like this before," said Whoolery. "They were chanting on the bus, ‘Assassinate Obama. Assassinate Obama.’ Then adding in a name sometimes of a classmate on the bus, ‘Assassinate Obama and Kate.’"
The Whoolery’s explained to their kids what assassinate means then contacted the school about what was happening.
"I think the thing that struck us was just like, ‘Where did they get the word and why would they put that word and that person together?’" said Whoolery.
This is, of course, wrong. Barack Obama is the President of us all and proper respect must be paid.
On the other hand, eight year-old Kate has it coming. The little bitch….

I think someone needs to lose their parental rights over this. Teaching children that young that kind of hate constitutes child abuse.
So, John Kass just found out that eighth graders are cruel to someone who seems a little different? I always knew he was a Sean Hannity-wannabe tool, but I only suspected he was also as stupid as Hannity.
“Some said that because she supported McCain, by extension she supported a plan by deranged skinheads to kill Obama before the election. And I thought such politicized logic was confined to American newsrooms.”
Fuck off, John. The sooner you are covering the Itasca City Council for the Pioneer Press, the better it will be for Chicago journalism.
Of course anything said by a random idiot high school kid is the fault of The Liberal Fascists. When oh when will Obama denounce Anonymous Ungrammatical High Schooler?!!
As for the kids on the bus, sadly, I don’t think that in today’s videogaming and 24-hour news channel world, the only place kids would hear about assassination is from their parents.
Sorry, didn’t read closely enough to realize it was middle school. Even better. I certainly recall my middle school as a bastion of tolerance, politeness and perfectly grammatical speech.
I’m currently involved in a situation with my son’s middle school here in OKC. The day after the election, the Government and History teacher asked the students what they thought of the election. It seems to be a ‘teachable moment’ well in line with the purview of the class. This being Oklahoma, my son was the only kid who spoke up about how glad he was. This led to several of the students attacking him with statements like “you’re a communist” and “terrorist supporter” and so on. The teacher had to stop the discussion. In the hall after class, a couple of them jumped my kid, and discovered to their dismay that he’s been studying karate since he was six.
Yesterday I was in the principal’s office threatening a lawsuit over the principal wanting to suspend him for fighting. The surveillance video clearly shows him getting struck first, and then reacting, followed by him not doing anything more than necessary and walking into the nearest classroom (where he told the teacher there what happened.)
soonergrunt, that completely rocks–that your kid was able to fend off the bullies, and had the sense to walk into the nearest classroom. Kudos to you for raising a great kid.
Soonergrunt,Jr is my new hero.
FFS, I thought that we were done discussing politics on a junior-high-school level now that Palin was back in Alaska.
Soonergrunt’s son is my hero too, and I’m glad it is on video, yet sad to know there is video surveillance in middle/high school.
“Assassinate” and “Kate” rhyme nicely, and you know how kids love that for taunts. Kate is probably the class liberal, and thus marked for endless torment (I remember it well). “Assassinate” and “Obama” however is clearly the result of having fucktards and douche nozzles for parents.
And the other students learned where trolls come from.
I work at a local OKC tv station. Maybe you need to talk to someone in our news dept.
It’s over with. I understand that the kids got some kind of in-school-suspension for a couple of days, and my son had to explain to our Karate teacher why he used Karate outside of Karate class, and what he did. Things work out.
I guess the other kids in school are looking at my son a little differently now.
Glad it worked out. And, btw, nice to see another Sooner in Mr. Bogg’s Neighborhood.
