It seems the man you entrusted with your vote lied about his relationship with domestic terrorist and attempted mass murderer Bill Ayers.
Many of you either didn’t hear about Ayers, or accepted Obama’s evolving explanations that Ayers was "just a guy in his neighborhood," or someone that he thought had gone through some sort of terrorist rehabilitation—perhaps at the Yasser Arafat wing of the Betty Ford Clinic.
But now that Ayers has come out and admitted that their relationship is very close—"family friends" is how he put it—how does that make you feel?
I ask, becuase as Malcolm once explained, you’ve been hoodwinked. You’ve been had. You’ve been took. You’ve been led astray, led amok. You’ve been bamboozled.
You’ve been conned in to voting the family friend of a known terrorist into the White House.
How does that make you feel?

As a former Illinoisan who lived in Hyde Park for a while doing graduate work, I am quite disturbed that the University of Illinois-Chicago campus has been palling around with terrorists all this time. Bill Ayers is a family friend, I am sure, to hundreds of faculty and students. Plus, it seems that even Mayor Daley has been pallin’ around with him, givin’ him awards and stuff. All of the while I lived in Hyde Park, shopping for groceries at the co-op, hanging in the bookstorres and coffeehouses, I was living amidst a community teeming with terrorist pals.
I am afraid that shutting down the University of Illinois–at least long enough to clean out the terrorism–will not be enough. I am afraid the entire city of Chicago, including its Terrorist-Family-Friend-in-Chief Mayor, will need to be shut down, fumigated, and repopulated with Red-State Wisdom.
I mean, seriously, is there an alternative?

On the subject of William Ayers, one with a working brain and a mild case of skepticism might ask if Mr. Ayers would rerelease his memoir with an inflated emphasis on Obama or if he’d rerelease his memoir without any mention of Obama. I’m sure his editor, his publisher, and his wallet made that decision quite easy for him.
Consider it a case of cashing in, making sure he gets a deal to write another book, and also picking on the right wing. What else is a washed-up radical to do?

I would join. From what I have red about his work, he is doing really good things to improve the American educational system, especially for minority kids. I get the impression that he is rather inclusive. It is a leftist trait.

I should have known better than to follow the link. I was sorely tempted to respond to some of their idiocy, but I resisted, thank goodness! But, I really don’t know which is worse; this type of stupidity or the type I saw at my doctor’s office. I was there to take a pulmonary function test the day after the election. Since I’ve been there before, I should have known better than to allow any conversation about politics to even get a small start, because I remember now that the guy that administers this test is a true believer Rethug. Loves Bush, because he has so much more on his plate than we can begin to imagine and still he’s made such good decisions. We found all those WMD we were looking for there, so that proves he was right about the war in Iraq. When I countered that all that we found were old and expired to the point that they were not that dangerous anymore, well, he was in the service and he did munitions there and he has two nephews that are navy seals, so he knows that expired just means that instead of killing 100M, now they can only kill 900,000. And on and on and on. Oy. This from an educated, otherwise personable guy. And he’s not the only one I’ve met that was otherwise normal except they believe in stuff like Rush Limberger would. I can’t take it!
