This is mainly because I know very little of this “underclass”, but he writes with such conviction I have always assumed he is correct. And he is a good writer. He’s got a lot of essays online so you can check it out for yourself. He’s pretty right-wing, pull-yourself-up-by-your bootstraps type, which has always seemed like nonsense to me because I grew up in the pampered middle class where everything was given to me whether I asked for it or not. But he can write.
