Deep thoughts from Special Ed:
Racial divide? Didn’t this election prove that our racial divide had moved to the past? Barack Obama didn’t win from the black vote — he won a majority of white voters as well. While racism will never get completely stamped out, it has thankfully faded out of our public life. That was a prerequisite to victory, not a result of it. Had there actually been a racial divide in our public life, Barack Obama wouldn’t have won the nomination, let alone the election. Maybe Time should think about that.

Think about that, why dont’cha? Huh?
aimai
Heh, indeed.
Blacks are so lucky, all of their wages just increased to match those of their white peers.
That was so dumb, I thought it was a “shorter” Ed at first.
Had there been a racial divide, white people and black people wouldn’t have voted for Obama by the exact same percentages.
Oh, wait…
So Special Ed wants to be named Time’s person of the year because he’s a white voter? Or something. (Maybe someone should point out to him that Obama is a half-white voter).
Oh goody. Another white person declaring racism dead. We black people just love that.
You all just don’t get it, do you? Special Ed nails it again.
Our country has long moved past the so-called racial divide. We are now divided along terrorist/non-terrorist lines, don’tcha know?!
Oh yeah, and the dirty fucking hippies and non DFHs. And the gays, and the non-gays.
Oh, fuck, just forget it.
Amazing that it took him over a month from the election to declare that racism is dead and there’s no longer any need for anything at all to protect Blacks, Hispanics, LGBT, Women, Muslims or any other historically class that has been discriminated against.
See, now it means that only Christians are discriminated against. Now how easy was that?
Ahhh, but I think most of you misunderestimate Special Eddie. Here is the key quote:
See, he’s not talking about Time magazine, but time itself. If the Time/Space continuum would just ponder the racial utopia we live in now, maybe “Q” will accept the human race as salvagable when Capt. Picard stands before in judgement for all of us. Then, in the next episode…..awww hell, who am I kidding. Ed is as sharp as a beach ball.
It takes a Special type of un-selfaware idiot to pat himself on the back because a bunch of other people voted for a black man.
Ed is a disgrace to the rank of self-designated Cap’n. I, for one, am offended.
Oh, riiiiiight Capt Ed. I’m sure you have lots and lots of black friends too, otherwise you’d just be talking out your ass, correct?
I’m surprised he didn’t recommend Joe the Plumber.
Barack Obama didn’t win from the black vote — he won a majority of white voters as well.
Well, if you consider 43% to be a “majority”…
http://www.cnn.com/ELECTION/20…..s/#USP00p1
OTOH, I would love to go into partnership with the ol’ Cap’n. “OK, Ed, you get to be the majority partner. How about I give you, say, 43% of the voting stock, and I’ll keep the rest?”
Deep thoughts from such a shallow mind are predictably warped and twisted. As I recall, Obama led white working class voters in the pre-election polls everywhere except the South. (Have not looked at the exit polls to see if that pattern held during the election.) Oddly enough, McCain won a huge percentage of the white vote in the South. Can’t imagine why that might be, because, as Capt. Ed informs us, racism is dead. BTW my mother was a virgin, pigs fly, and ponies come out of Dubya’s ass.
There’s no “racial divide.” He’s not even really a Negro. He’s even got Rick Warren christing at the Inauguration. Would your radical colored do that? QED.
Racism is alive and well, Ed, but thanks for playing.
Here’s what the election taught me: just how painfully, obviously superior a black candidate has to be in order to be given equal consideration. I think there were plenty of white voters who pulled the lever for Obama, not because they really wanted to, but because of the incredible lameness of McCain and the craziness of Palin.
But does this mean American’s reject crazy bitches, viz-a-viz, Sarah?
I think not.
The math works on that because Special Ed is a half-wit voter…
Like Maher said, racism won’t be proven dead ’till we elect a retarded black man as president (shows picture of Bush).
Also from Cap’t. Queeg, USNR:
Haven’t seen in…well, ever before. Or, Cardinal Richelieu.
Special indeed.
Why yes, Ed, and since we all know Obama is a Muslim, there is obviously no longer a Christian/Muslim divide in America either. Isn’t that special!
and don’t forget about the democratic/repuglican non-divide.
And don’t forget the part about the Rs driving the country off the cliff, with the whistling air even waking up most of us in the U S of A.
