Speaking as a CT Democrat and elected official, I am appalled at the wimpy response of the State Central Committee. Our Town Committee voted to censure Lie-berman. It is even more incomprehensible given the fact that only 21% of Democrats in CT approve, and 75% disapprove of his job. Even with more than a 3:1 majority, they can’t bring themselves to censure this jerk!

Why is it whenever the Democrats reach into their arsenal, all they ever pull out is another Strongly Worded Letter? By now they must just be using a form letter where they just fill in the name and the offense.

Let’s see what a great Democrat Joe has been:

In the 1980s, he partnered with Lynne Cheney to promote censorship.

As noted, he was the first to make the Republican smears of Clinton into a “bipartisan” issue of morality.

In the 2000 election, he handled his buddy’s husband Dick with kid gloves during their debate (in contrast to his savaging of fellow Democrat Ned Lamont.) During the Florida recount debate, he (in contrast to all of his previous bare knuckled campaigns) decide to take the “high road”, which led to the decision not to ask for a total recount.

In 1995, he and Lynne teamed up again to start the American Council of Trustees and Alumni, to save American Universities from those darned liberal professors. The group published a list of 100 academics who were insufficiently bloodthirsty after 9/ll. This list became the source for David Horowitz’s McCarthyite book.

He was a founding member of the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, a neocon “think tank.” This group put out ads claiming that Democrats (including his fellow CT Democratic Representatives Chris Murphy and Joe Courtney) were encouraging terrorists by opposing the FISA “reform.” When asked, he denied responsibility, saying it was not his responsibility, FDD had set up a separate lobbying group. (Yeah!)

In short, Joe has always looked out for himself, and only himself. It is not for nothing that his “party” was labeled “Connecticut for Lieberman,” and not “Lieberman for Connecticut.”

I think he’s got friends at the NSA who are feeding him all the emails, phone records, bank records, bank records, etc. to use against them.

This is the only ‘answer’ I can come up with for not only Lieberman, but also the inaction of Congress to charge Bush and his minion with the WAR CRIMES they have FINALLY admitted to. First they didn’t do it. Then they did because it was necessary. Now they seem to be proud of it.

Enough already. People who condone the torture of child’s testicles in the name of national security are just sexual perverts with a power complex.

WAR CRIMES SOON. It’s the least we can do to rectify the absurd prosecution of our nation’s favorite aging hippie (Tommy Chong) who spent time in a FEDERAL CORRECTIONAL FACILITY for the ‘crime’ of producing ‘illegal glassware’.
