The only real difference between Dick Cheney and Ted Bundy is that Bundy felt a twinge of remorse at the end.
Oh. And Bundy never shot a friend in the face while drunk. So score one for Ted.

The only real difference between Dick Cheney and Ted Bundy is that Bundy felt a twinge of remorse at the end.
Oh. And Bundy never shot a friend in the face while drunk. So score one for Ted.
You forgot that, if you are not counting only personal murders, then Cheney has an infinitely higher body count than Bundy. And Bundy, I’m told, had charm and warmth.
If karma exists, Dick Cheney will come back in his next lifetime as an Islamic black lesbian female living in Sudan in a drought and war stricken area administered under Sharia law.
Hells yeah, while Bundy was wrapping the electric chord around a victim’s neck, he oozed charm. Mass murderer Cheney oozes…….not charm though.
Who will rid us of this meddlesome veep? I guess finally he’ll fade away to Wyoming & his luxuries.
Remember a few years back when this thing was posted and it soon became apparent that it wasn’t a joke? There are people out there who really thought Dick Cheney was “their kind of guy” — and those people scare me almost as much as Big Dick himself.
Ted Bundy also volunteered for a while at a suicide-prevention hotline, which is where he met Ann Rule, who would go on to write a book about him. According to Rule, he was quite good at it — very persuasive. It probably was a combination ego trip and genuine effort to be useful.
I keep thinking of Erich Fromm’s talking about “power to” and “power over”. When people feel lacking in “power to” — power to create, power to run their own lives, power to support themselves, power to interact in a meaningful way with others — they seek “power over” as a substitute. Bundy, who came from an extremely messed-up family situation (his mother had him when she was sixteen and his grandparents reared him to believe they were his parents and that his mother was his sister; his grandfather also tortured kittens to death), never had much “power to”.
I don’t know much about Bundy, never having watched “Married With Children”.
As for Dick Cheney, I think that Dan Quayle should be buying him thank you gifts for the rest of his life.
No one dares mention that Bundy’s last interview was w/ James C. Dobson, apparently not quite a “doctor” yet? St. Nick on a Stick!!
Hey, Ted Bundy and Dick Cheney have a lot in common. Most notably, they’re both psychopaths.
“I was a Rumsfeld man,” Cheney said. “I’d helped recruit him, and I thought he did a good job for us.”
Right on, Dick! Now how about a few words on the wit and wisdom of Doug Feith? Or some paeans of praise for the prescient vision of Donald Wolfowitz? Getting George W. Bush to suck your Cheney for eight years did not make you the smartest man in the room, Mr. Vice-President, merely the least discriminating.
brilliant, Dennis, thank you. “the least discriminating” — you exactly sum up my feeling about Cheney: not rage or hatred; just contempt.
Exactly, I can’t believe we’ve got tbogg citing Dobson. The article is tripe, and even if everything happened exactly as Dobson described, I don’t believe a word out of Bundy’s mouth. Bundy is trying to blame all his rapes and murders on a box of pornography he claims to have found when he was 13. He’s selling this to Dobson because it’s exactly what Dobson wanted to hear (notice that Dobson claims Bundy’s family was a completely normal, good Christian family – which is ridiculous). All Bundy wanted was to get as much attention as possible on his way out, and Dobson was a perfect vessel for it..
Bundy felt a twinge of remorse? Really?
I wouldn’t give Bundy the edge over Cheney, and as a woman, if I had to take my chances I’d pick Dick.
They are incomparable monsters.
Cheney is more like the character George Hearst in Deadwood, a ruthless sociopathic businessman. Bundy had no control over his dark impulses.
I’m going to assume your comment is sarcastic and not, um, serious.
Ann Rule and Bundy worked a crisis hot line together and in the wee hours after their shift was over, he’d walk her to her car and warn her against talking to strangers. Bundy was also a Republican. Guess he fit right in.
Isn’t that the office which, the Constitution says, shall not be worth a bucket of warm piss? I believe George Jefferson put that in.
In 1968, he managed the Seattle office of Nelson Rockefeller’s Presidential campaign and attended the 1968 Republican convention in Miami, Florida as a Rockefeller supporter.
Bundy or Cheney? answer here
But Cheney expressed few regrets in yesterday’s interview and said he was untroubled by opinion polls showing that he and Bush are among the most unpopular White House occupants in modern times. “Eventually you wear out your welcome in this business, but I’m very comfortable with where we are and what we’ve achieved substantively,” he said.
There are no words.
Really Dick, there isn’t much more anyone could do to make that office worse than the bucket of choleric shit you’ve turned it into. Or maybe I am confusing that bucket with your soul.
Now, now, look at all the peace and prosperity created by Cheney/Bush. Their accomplishments make both of them deserving of being dipped in molten bronze for posterity.
Can I watch to make sure it is really them being dipped?
I heard a rumour that Dick is not allowed in the White House rose garden anymore due to the fact that all the flowers immediately whither and die when he enters.
Agreed. It’s the peace of the grave they’ve achieved, and the prosperity of these death-meisters in charge for 8 years.
Of course he’s happy with what they’ve achieved. They transfered trillions of dollars from the people’s public coffers to those of a few corporatists. Mission accomplished.
Sounds like the makings of a new teevee quiz show!
Bundy or Cheney?
Saddam or Rumsfeld?
Barbara Bush (sr) or Marie Antoinette?
Bush jr or Hitler? -sorry, that one is required-
Bush sr or Hirohito?
Tony Snow or Gobbels?
Laura Bush or Queen Isabella?*
Douglas Feith or Koko?**

I object to the use of Darth Vader as Cheney’s nickname. It is demeaning to Darth. At the end of his life, Darth found his humanity & turned away from the dark side. I expect Cheney to be the “top” in his relationship with Satan.***

Great minds think alike. Closing paragraph of a recent post I made at TPM Muckraker…
Enjoy. And stop plagarizing my work.
No matter what you think of Ted He’s gone. If You think Cheney will go away your dreaming. He still has stock in more than You know of this Country and will continue to cause us problems until his final calling. Thats why he can still grin at us is He knows how well his bread is buttered. Has anyone noticed that the media never really digs into what Cheney and The Bushes and all those people are involved in outside of Government. I have heard that Cheney Daddy Bush and Jim Baker control all the oil that is shipped on the mississippi river. That Barbra Bush is richer than Daddy bush because her family left her the business that makes war materials. Hum! this could answer why the Bushes are such war mongers. They start wars to fatten the coffers. This could be why Barbra runs the family because she holds the purse strings. Those government disclosures required can be falsified quite easily when your running the Government. It probably was hard while they were in office to dig into all this but there will be no excuse once they are out. They may not be able to be prosicuted for what was done in office but they could be for what they got for themselves by being in office. Start digging boys before we are dumb enough to elect more Bushes.
