Trying to get two Bassets to stay in one place when you have a “perfect picture” is pretty difficult, particularly when one is 90% eternal puppy and 10% growing into the 3.2X her original size woman.

Mine intentionally look the other way when they see the camera. I’m expecting them to get baseball hats and cover their faces and do their best Bernie Madoff imitation any day now.

Exquisite composition in the first pic. The rectilinear shapes of the bookcase and stairs contrast nicely with the basset droopidity. The final touch is the Dali-esque Fenway flowing down the steps like a melted watch.

The top picture is now on my desktop. I particularly enjoy Beckham’s expression of pity for Fenway (who, well, almost had me fooled into thinking he was Satchmo again.)

Middle bottom pic is very Cheneyesque. It’s the snarly bottom teeth (only Beckham’s are cleaner and whiter than the Dick’s.)
