it must be the season for wingnuts being put out to pasture. Our local wingnut, Jim Wooten is retiring and the ajc is looking for replacement ‘conservtive columnists’ from the public.

Perhaps Lileks can annoy Atlanta residents as practice. Hell, they may even like him. And we can re-run all of tboggs snark on the lileks clan.

The scale goes idiot, imbecile, moron.

An idiot can’t even wipe his or her own ass, & essentially must be supervised/observed at all times.

An imbecile can perform some tasks, & a moron can be trusted to tie his/her shoes & doesn’t have to be under constant supervision.

Not sure where on the scale Sarah fits.

Apologies! I feel awful about my flippant-seeming attitude earliler.

YES! I commend your efforts, and encourage you and all who follow your lead.

Folks: imo, It simply doesn’t matter what your circumstances, to some degree.

You CAN grow some very nutritious stuff that may not provide bulk, but surely can enhance vitamin balance etc., in a very very small space. The only concern I would have is for folks who don’t trust the soil source and purity, or that of their ambient air. For them, I would suggest seeking out trusted sources of pure and safe foods. They are out there.

A personal preference of mine: walk right past the purveyors of pre-packaged health supplement mixtures of basically unknown origin, composition, action, strength, or safety.

Personally, I’d rather walk into the nearest “natural-foods” supermarket and scoop up the real thing from their bulk supplies: fresh kale and carrots et al., dried grains and legumes, etc.

Usually people at such a market are delighted to help you understand what mixtures might be healthy, and how to cook the produce they offer. The quality of produce is usually FAR higher than at most other supermarkets also, so when you measure costs, keep in mind how fresh and totally consumable the produce is from such places.

Deep thanks, bigbrother, for all your efforts in this line.

Putting Limbaugh on the NYT editorial page might be a good idea. I’ll bet most of those Upper East Side conservatives don’t have any idea what an idiot the guy is. In fact, I’ll bet most people in the country are not fully aware of how far out of the mainstream, and how fully divorced from reality he is.

I’ve been wondering lately, how it is that someone who is supposed to be some sort of conservative icon and standard bearer is never a guest on MSM political shows, is never quoted, is never cited as a source, never does anything outside of his little world, where he’s free to invent his own reality. If he were on the NYT editorial page the amount of BS coming out of him just might become the news item it deserves to be.

Say what you like about the parade of crazies on the WSJ op-ed page, but they hired Thomas Frank as their contrarian, which is more than the NYT would do. Can’t be having someone who scares the advertisers.

“The Times needs someone who is as far to the right, in as hard-edged and partisan a way, as Paul Krugman is to the left.”

Sounds good. Can we get Krugman in the WSJ in exchange then? And on Faux Noise, without both of the rude interruptions and the snide comments after the guests’ spot has ended?

because no one is brave enough to guess? i’m not. egad. look at how i mangle when i be trapped by de language and need a hidey-hole quick.

I don’t know the answer, but I did click all the lil’ links TBogg put up, plus a few of the others, partly just to see if I could figure why people bother with twitter at all. No answers yet, except that my machine still works.

The fact that anyone ever hired Kristol in the 1st place is one thing that has always stumped me. Is he someone’s woebegone brother-in-law or somethin? I wouldn’t hire him to hold a potted plant.
