Whither Joe the Plumber Not Plumber Campaign Prop Journalist Failed Author Litigant? Staying "politically active":
MILWAUKEE – Joe the Plumber was in Wisconsin this weekend as part of a meeting of some of the state’s conservative leaders.
Dressed in his trademark work clothes and boots, Samuel Joseph Wurzelbacher gave a speech at the "Defending the American Dream Summit" at Midwest Airlines Center in Milwaukee on Saturday. He urged the estimated 800 people in attendance to remain politically active.
The meeting served as a rallying point for a Republican party that suffered big losses in the last two election cycles. For the first time in 23 years, Democrats have control of the state’s Legislature and governor’s office.
The message of the conference was made emphatically clear. A 7-foot tall, 48-foot long sign read, "No New Taxes."
Next stop: refereeing dwarf wrestling on the county fair circuit which is, unsurprisingly, a lateral career move from appearing at CPAC.

From the first linkie: “Samuel J. Wurzelbacher says in the federal lawsuit filed Thursday that he suffered emotional distress, harassment, humiliation and embarrassment as a result of their actions.”
Funny, that’s exactly how I suffered during eight years as a passenger in the clown car driven by Joe’s buddies in the GOP. So, can I sue them, too? You gotta give it to the man: in spite of having the IQ of a hanging chad, he’s been able to drag out his 15 minutes of fame waay past intermission. Good on ya, mate!
Joe the Schmuck.
He urged the estimated 800 people in attendance to remain politically active.
And to drop a ten spot in the hat that’s being shared, er passed, around. Stuffing loose $10’s in his empty pockets as he walked away he could be heard muttering through a gleeful chuckle….”minimum wage is for sucker socialists, bitches!”
“Joe” is clearly a PR operation with BigMoney behind it, and I’m beginning to think the CNBC clown Santellitubby-”Teabaggers” is part of the same operation. “Joe” was Phase 1 of the rollout. Sam the Sham has little to do with his subprime 2nd mortgage on his 15 minutes of fame house of cards. He’s just along for the ride!
I give these people no credit for at least being skilled at “messaging” and such, since it’s so easy when you have BigMedia propping you up. In fact, it’s difficult to fail at the PR game when you have the advantages Repubs have with the Noize Machine. I actually think they’ve been flubbing this Teabagger Phase by being so obvious with the timing of the temper tantrum/Web site/”protests,” yet BigMedia still reports about it as if it’s legit and grassroots, while completely ignoring the proof that’s out there that it’s a sham.
Same for Karl Rove and friends, where they were promoted (still are in BigMedia) as being geniuses, but as we’ve seen the last two election cycles, Rove can’t even add 2 plus 2 when he does “the math.” Now that their policies have failed so spectacularly and BigMedia can’t provide any more cover for them, Rove and friends got nuthin. Can’t adjust…can’t see ahead. Just one-trick ponies.
Compare this Sam the Sham operation with what happened around Cindy Sheehan. A mother loses a child in an unnecessary Invasion (what has “Joe” sacrificed? Bowling night?) and channels her grief in ways to stop the mass murder. In a couple of weeks, she almost single-handedly rekindles the pro-peace movement. What happens then? Every major TV network and paper starts running all kinds of false stories about her personally, and succeeds in branding her as looney tunes. This, despite the fact that she’s incredibly articulate and informed:

So Cindy is crazy and “not serious” while “Joe” speaks for the common man and gets a megaphone indefinitely. Not bad for a welfare queen:

I disagree about Sammy’s career choice. I see him going toward the televangelism industry with a ‘Blue Collar On Tour’ slant maybe with the plummeting-in-earnings Cable Guy and my favorite: Tater Salad.
In the Larry Craig room?
No, I think Craig was in Minneapolis, not Milwaukee, wasn’t he?
What does Joe care about new taxes? Has he even paid his old taxes yet? And I prefer Joe the Canker Sore, because much like herpes, each time he shows up, it is socially awkward for everybody.
Remember when Joe was universally described on TV as “an undecided voter”?
That was really funny.
Man, that Wingnut Welfare really does a great job at creating Galt-like figures for everyone to easily identify as the leading lights of conservatarian thought. I suppose they need fresh flesh (much like the tobacco industry) since splashing Ann Coulter’s face everywhere doesn’t get the mileage it used to…
I hear McDonald’s is still hiring. Joe, remember to bring you red hair and big shoes. You know, your other suit.
i love this guy. he’s like the gift that keeps on giving.
can’t wait for the joe/rush cuckoo cage match for (what’s left of) the soul of the republickin’ party. i think the winner gets anne coulter as a booby prize.
i think the winner gets anne coulter as a booby prize.
Those ain’t boobies.
So sorry. You’re right. I was trying to make a funny, thinking that they were twin cities that shared an airport.
Wow, Joe must be really happy the state officials committed this wrongdoing because now he has a new way to make more money without having to work for it.
I’m surprised the Republicans are still exploiting the fake-Plumber when he failed to help them win the last election. Then again, they tend to be stupid like that.
Is the reason they love Joe so much, that they see him as already having “gone Galt?” Although, I thought you had to actually accomplish something first.
That’s what gets me about wingnut bloggers threatening to go Galt. Who’s going to notice?
I wish it to be pointed out that the Midwest Center can accommodate something like 10,000 people. IN a metro area of over a million people, 800 is… pretty damn funny.
