Back on Valentines Day (In February…on the 14th. It was in all of the Hallmark stores) mrs tbogg asked what I would like for a gift because we’re still adorable in that newlywed kind of way. After replying "Your sweet lovin’ everyday is more than I deserve", we laughed and laughed and then I told her, no seriously, I kind of wanted an iPod shuffle because I hate taking my iPod with me most of the time as it’s heavy and I don’t need it knocking around in my pocket colliding with…well, you know. So she got me one of those matchbook sized ones (in bright red, thankyewverymuch), which can only mean…a new version just came out proving that Steven Jobs reviews all of our purchases from his palatial estate in the sky and likes to annoy me. I know I can get a nano for a few bucks more but what I really want is small and discrete. I also know that new one makes you use the Apple earbuds which are kind of crappy but… my gawd, it’s cute; like a metal man-tampon of sound.
Or something.
So, I’m still annoyed.
Meh, here’s some songs:
Knuckle Duster (Radio 1-A) – White Zombie
City of Angels – The Distillers

…on a happier note, Nine Inch Nails starts a new US tour this spring with Jane’s Addiction and Street Sweeper which is Tom (Rage Against The Machine) Morello’s new band. We like this. (Warning. Loud)

My sweet hubby & I go into a Hallmark store together a week or so before V-Day. We each pick cards, hand them to the other and say, “if I were buying cards, these are the ones I’d get you.”
Then we laugh and laugh at each other’s funny choices and go blow the unspent card money on dinner.

TBogg, I know you’re in deep with iPods and iTunes for media organization/syncing etc., however you really should give the Sansa Clip a try.
About the same size as your Shuffle, it’s very highly regarded for better sound quality than iPods, includes an FM tuner, functionality for podcasts and audiobooks, and has a small but usable display, enabling more control than the Shuffle.
An 8gb Clip costs less than the new 4gb Shuffle (and if you want to slum where we shouldn’t, it’s just $49 — for 8gb! — at Walmart). 2gb and 4gb versions can be found for less than $50. The only downside to trying the Clip is that your iPods will never sound as good again…
…Adding, the new Shuffle with proprietary controls on, and requiring use of, Apple’s crappy earbuds = FAIL!
I just won a new mp3 player, a 4 gb Sansa Fuze. Sometime soon I will put up my random 10, just to embarass myself and to make everyone else laugh at my tone deafness. w00t.
Perhaps it was in honor of el Rushbo, who has been in the news of late.
Speaking of things getting smaller and smaller (and not my 401k) mentioning how big your regular iPod is reminds me how far we have come, and you are old enough to appreciate this: think Walkman, and how amazed we all were back then when we we could finally take our music with us.
Smackwater Jack-Carol King
A Mind with a Heart of its Own -Tom Petty
An Unusual Kiss-Melissa Etheridge
Cowgirl in the Sand-Neil Young & Crazy Horse

Lover of the Bayou-Mudcrutch
Ooh La- The Kooks
N.S.U. -Cream
as with the man who visits his uncle’s farm, far outside the wire, to drive the forbidden Barchetta, true freedom and growling manhood are the reward for mocking petty rules.
I WILL CHOOSE FREE WILL!
a new version just came out
Is this the one that tells you what song you’re listening to in a robot voice? Is that for people who don’t get enough mechanized annoyance in their lives from phone trees?
