I don’t see what’s so wrong with what he wrote. The title of the post implies that the movement couldn’t have gained much traction because slaves couldn’t decide to up and leave – but the “Back to Africa” movement among freed blacks was begun long before slavery ended and it fizzled out largely because former slaves didn’t want to return to an Africa that they did not regard as home because they had been in the U.S. for generations.
