Having attended attended an organizing meeting last night with the Orange County National Tax Day Tea Party, I can assure people that "teabaggers" are not peasants. The meeting was held at a 12th floor law firm at Ivine’s Wells Fargo Tower.
You know, bitching about bailouts while in the Wells Fargo Tower is all kinds of awesome.

An “of the People” Ponzi!
My guess, Rachel will enjoy reading this post TBogg.
Honestly, what more needs to be said after reading your post?
Well done (as klynn chuckles at the tragic/sick irony).
I dunno.
As Matt Bai recently said, “You know you’re a peasant when you worship the very people who are right now, this minute, conning you and taking your shit…A good peasant is loyal, simpleminded, and full of misdirected anger.”
Sounds like the other perfesser to me.
(Hanx to curv3ball)
It’s been raining cats ‘n bassets all day here in D.C.! Tea-hee!
Well, the 12th floor isn’t very high up, at least by conservative “organizer” standards, so this really is a bottom-up operation.
They should have met in the basement.
So you have to be poor, unemployed, and liberal to care about a topic and organize? What is your problem?
Go read the link. That is not the point.
bonus: FNC was showing Cavuto for about 5 minutes – with a sign in the background that read “PLACE TEA BAGS HERE” … with an arrow pointing to Hannity’s Chin … we dress like students, we dress like housewives
more 12th Floor Action from the Great Orange Satan:
I thought they were going to split up and occupy all the mens room stalls in the building in order to carry out the tea bagging mission. Is Larry Craig tea bagging at any of the demonstrations?
Ah, I smell troll.
Every blogger on fdl has been complaining in one way or another about these “teabaggers”. I find it ridiculous. Attack what they’re protesting, but to attack the fact that they’re organizing is not very “progressive” in my view.
stop me before I watch FNC again !!
sign just now: “Chenge The President”
Tapping & bagging.
Way to go TBogg so “grassrooty”
Scared?
We explore the Men’s Room. We don’t give a shit.
Weak Tea! That is what these Marks are! They will never realize that these asshole who organized this little party are the same ones who have been fleecing their pockets!
I can’t quite make out biodieselvw’s trolling point. Are those testicles in his mouth?
Hahaha, omg, people are organizing and they’re not liberal! They must be assholes!
Fixed it for you.
How very progressive of you to make such a comment!
ITYM Matt Taibbi.
Umm, they’re = they are
Do you have some strange sense of humor that I’m not understanding, or did you just make a fool of yourself?
Not hardly, troll. After 3 years in the Mekong it’ll take a lot more than a troll to scare me.
we’re not gonna be heraring about teh attendance at any one event. instaec we’ll hear about how many there were and “hundreds” came out. they have 10 of these planned between now and next election? That’s alot of teabaggin’ i don’t think they can keep it up.
KMA
KMA, you teabagging fool, you.
Organizing in your sentence is used as a gerund, requiring a possive pronoun.
thank you. that was wtf for me, Bai is a tool and should be working for Politico.
No one is scared of squirrely little hypocrites who insist upon deregulation so they can gamble billions away, and then come running to the government to bail them out, and then blame that government for bailing them out.
Again, very progressive! Keep it up!
I
’m‘ve not understandingfify.
1) yes. you don’t understand.
2) no. you’re… (or is it “your”??? do you know Mr. Troll?) the one making a fool of yourself.
And you keep track of these hypocrites? You know for a fact that the ones attending the tea parties are the ones that asked for a bailout?
SUCKERS!
There now that works!!
Hate to do it, but I’ve got to defend bvw here.
Oh, I get it. You’re one of those fancy lads, aren’t ya? Gosh, ya look great! Is that your little Spring outfit?
When you can’t discuss the topic always attack grammar or resort to insults! That’s the progressive way! Right JDM3?
Wells Fargo…what IS that thing…a…bank?
Not seeing it eCAHN, but whatever you say!
Are you implying that because they were in the Wells Fargo tower that somehow they’re connected to Wells Fargo?
If your office is in the Sears Tower are you connected with Sears?
know what? i re-read it and you were right.
So you think it is grammatical to say: “they are organizing is …” ?
If you take it out of context no, but in context “the fact that they are organizing is not very progressive” sounds fine to me.
You so funny.
My eighth grade English teacher, Miss Webster, is rolling over in her grave.
Haha, thanks for owning up to it then!
Lets not all get fired up. Just having some fun with my friends at fdl.
Googling Competitive Enterprise Institute and then following their experts’ fields of expertise shows that they are lobbyists for chemical fertilizer and mining interests. Not a very grass-rooty group.
Do we really the Grammar Police??Or are we going to discuss the “Tea Party”???
Turn the last phrase into its own sentence, replace “they’re” with “they are”:
He is saying that the act of attacking is not progressive. He is not saying that organizing is not progressive.
Quick google study for you.

Looks like you’re the only one on the internet who took english from Miss Webster.
Lets here it four the grammer polise!
I really wouldn’t try to defend your point with “everyone else on the internet.” Not an effective strategery.
THe Faux News/Conservative Money Bags/Republican/Neo-Nazi inspired Teabagger parties? Are those the ones you are refering to?
emptywheel is upstairs at the top!
The Big Banks’ FDIC Boondoggle
Haha, normally I wouldn’t, but 4,000 hits to 0 makes it pretty obvious.
ahem my beloved firedogs – you are visiting one of our temples of snark on one of the best feast days evah . . . and you’re swatting a mosquito
c’mon alwwready – ya just missed Malkin and now Cliff Claven is on the teebee beiin’ all teabag and shit
Ya Tink??
eCAHN, have you no courage to admit that you were wrong?
Secret Service tea time is over

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion
Even if you have no idea what the fuck you’re talking about !
I hope these teabaggies cost the whackos a pretty penny!
Yup the very heavily promoted grass roots, protests
yes, we have no bananas.
Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan
” you are entitled to your own opinion, but not to your own facts.”
1909 S VDB mint condition??
I’m watching CNN. Some teabagger is explaining to Wolfie Blitzer how grassrootsy the teabaggers are and how they may form a third party blah, blah, blah. Donna Brazile is there to refute and not IMHO making the strong case she should be.
BTW. What is up with the Oxdown entry Arab States’ Reaction to War Crimes in Darfur. Is the author Henry Srebrnik or not?
http://oxdown.firedoglake.com/diary/4762
I hope the teabaggers find out about the women protesting in Afghanistan today. That’s a real protest.
I went to a tea-bag party and all I got was a salty tasting chin.

Today I received a email from Well Fargo stating that they wanted my banking information, with various capitalization and punctuation errors, so that I might update my account information and restore my online service. I have no account with them, and, therefore, no banking activity (such as it might be.) Hmmmm…FWIW.
1. That they are organizing protests isn’t funny. That they are failing is funny.
2. That they are organizing protests isn’t funny. That they are telling their followers not to sign any mailing lists is funny.
3. That they are organizing protests isn’t funny. That they only now realize what “teabagging” means is funny.
4. That they are organizing protests isn’t funny. That they think of themselves as grassroots when they are being promoted primarily by FOX is funny.
5. That they are organizing protests isn’t funny. Donald Douglas wanting to distance himself from the peasants is funny.
Hope this helps.
Not to be too pedantic, but to be so:
I think Tbogg’s point regarding a “grassroots” movement, ostensibly against higher taxes and government bailouts, organizing in the Wells Fargo building is pretty obvious, and from a snarky stand, is pretty on point.
All hail the grammar police, which, as a technical writer for some time, happens to be part of my job. “[T]hey are organizing” is not grammatically incorrect. Organizing is the progressive (to coin a phrase) form of the verb organize, and in this instance is being (another progressive form) used as a verb; that is, the verb in the sentence is “are organizing.” The subject of the sentence is “they.”
Gerunds are progressive forms of verbs used as nouns, and as pointed out, should be modified by possessive pronouns, as in “Their organizing in the Wells Fargo building beggars credulity.” While verbs ending in “ing” can be used as gerunds (nouns), not all verbs ending in “ing” are gerunds. Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar.
Teabagging is so yesterday! I have the new political movement on my blog!
Oh, this grammar geek
thinksknows she is in love with you!I had secretly hoped for a sequel like “Freedom Felching” or “Reach-Around To Your Neighbor in His Hour a time Of Need“, but yours is most excellent, Kenosha Jr.
