Deep thoughts by Rand Simberg:
I really think that the president imagines that his political views are mainstream.
It’s really easy to misinterpret election results that way. Embarrassing actually….
…so actually, America is just not that into you |

Jesus Christ, whatta stupid, stupid fuck.
Of course Rand doesn’t think about the math of winnowing down the mainstream to all those who agree with ALL the conservative fringe and you get the 0.1% that think teabaggers are kewl. Keeping up with wingnuttery is like playing whack-a-mole, except with rats.
I still can’t get over the idea that a rethug who wins with paper-thin majority (if that) has a huge mandate from the people to do whatever he wants, while a Democrat wins in a landslide (comparatively speaking) has to be careful because he’s “out of the mainstream”.
You just don’t realize that this is a center-right nation. It must be, because the teevee tells me so.

i doubt any social conservatives liked Obama anyways.
They seem to prefer alcoholics, divorcee’s, and such
things.

Jack, one more vile and moronic post like that (unfortunately, not untypical of you) and you will never post here again.
Rand invokes double secret probation as causally as some men order lunch.
Thanks TBogg, May I e excused to go bleach my eyes?
Ah, I love the smell of wingnut logic around lunch time… So let’s see: Obama alienated the entire pro-life crowd by appointing Sibelius, and since they’re single issue they’ll now hate on his health care plan no matter how sane it might otherwise be. But when his commenter points out the cognitive dissonance inherent in that the very same family values crowd gave Ronald Raygun a pass even though he dipped his wick more than once, Rand gets all huffy and puffy. Douche.
Tbogg, what drugs do you use to cope with reading all this tripe day in and day out?
drugs do you use to cope with reading all this tripe
Personally, I prefer Dammital. The two M’s spell mm…
Good stuff, that. And I assume, of course, that our friend JDM3 will recommend large doses of Fuggidol?
Yurgggggg, pass the bleach this way!
It’s really easy to misinterpret election results that way.
Especially when it is two elections in a row and your personal popularity is running 64%. Not to mention that his policies often poll better than he does and most of them have had the support of 60-70% of the American public for more than 20 years.
Now, wait a minute. Maybe Rand gets it after all. See his comment here on the Pew poll.
“Those are adults, which always skew Democrat. Rasmussen polls likely voters (who pay much more attention).”
Here’s my comment at 11:19 AM, currently being “moderated.” We’ll see if it gets approved.
The
Democrats,I mean the adults are in charge.-G
This guy, like many of his brethern, are completely sure if they squeeze their eyes really, really tight and wish as hhhhhhhaaaaaarrrrrrdddddd as they can, then Obama will become a pariah. It’s that kind of bullet-proof logic that will get them back into power ASAP.
What the fuck kinda name is Rand Simberg anyway? Now, Dweezil Zappa, that’s a gaddamn name!
After reading this lightweight’s comment section, we need to promote this guy as the next Lee Atwater. He needs to have a long career as a leading Repub strategist and commentator. He’s fantastically dense!
(by the way, T, thanks for the hat tip a few masterpieces back)
When Americans talk of someone having an IQ of room temperature, they’re usually talking about Farenheit. Republicans: leading the centigrade revolution!
As for the name “Rand”: back in the day, some people, during their Objectivist periods [sic] would adopt or incorporate Rand’s name into their own or those of their children; or the name of one of Rand’s heros. There may be a confession here.
