As a woman, I can tell you that these women offend me because of their flaunting of their lack of intellectual thought. I really cringe when a minority member is elevated by the far right because that means the person is twice as vile as a regular rightwing conservative. They have to be in order to even be considered viable.

Do you have any kind of objective evidence to support that statement? I mean, sure Miss Prejean is no standout even among beauty contestants, and Harris didn’t exactly distinguish herself even in a state not known for its mental gifts, and Palin has shown a tad less than the smarts you might expect of an exceptionally amoral aging cheerleader. But Bachmann; there’s someone who has elevated wild-eyed crazy to an art form (I could see her relishing a starring role in a remake of Ilsa, She-Wolf of the SS), but it’s hard to get a real grasp on exactly how smart she is. She might actually be smarter than Malkin, although I could easily be letting my revulsion for the latter prejudice me against her. It’s funny – I am strongly prejudiced in favor of Asian women; I find them unusually attractive and delightful to look at (even more than most women are), and yet whenever I see a picture of that woman’s face, I just see a skull. She turns my stomach.
