I’ll never forget Jackson’s 20 minute guitar improv of “The Maoldau” at Woodstock. It was, like 4:30 in the AM, but anyone who saw it was blown away. Seriously, man.
Hey, I used to listen to radio personality Michael Jackson. He used to have a TV show which I believe was on CBS. This was when CBS did not try to compete with NBC for the Tonight Show listeners. Pretty decent interviewer. He was left of centerish. I think the Rush Limbaugh wanna be’s of the world got rid of Michael Jackson, radio personality. I wonder if he’s still alive.
I’ll bet the guy in the yellow t-shirt does a mean MJ impression complete with moonwalk, hat-tip, and crotch grab…oooh, I’m sorry, too early in the morning for that image.
I heard a caller on the radio this morning explaining to the DJ, in apparent earnestness, that Jackson isn’t really dead, that this is the only way he can enjoy a peaceful life. The next caller, just as sure or his “facts”, claimed that Jackson isn’t really dead, that this is just a publicity stunt for his “tour*”. And the DJ explained how rude it was of Jackson to not even allow Farrah Fawcett 24 hours of newstime to herself.
The circus is in town. [/dylan]
*Is doing a bunch of concerts in a single city really a tour? All signs point to “no”.
“In Hollywood, fans have gathered around the star of the other Michael Jackson, a radio personality, on the Hollywood Walk of Fame at 1541 Vine. St. Nearby at 1500 Vine St. is The Jacksons’ star where people are encouraged to remember him because the pop star’s individual one at 6927 Hollywood Blvd., in front of Grauman’s Chinese Theater, is unaccessible because of the Bruno movie premiere. Flowers will be placed there at 9 a.m. by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce.”
One time years ago I was arguing beer on a message board with a know-it-all who really didn’t (she claimed there were no good American beers, which gives you some sense of her ignorance), and when I cited Michael Jackson she said “who cares what some celebrity thinks?”
I view many of the Jackson mourners in the same light as the Lakers Championship revelers; It’s great that *you* find meaning in all this but I could really give a sh*t. I’ll be glad when the wall to wall coverage dies down.
*Is doing a bunch of concerts in a single city really a tour? All signs point to “no”.
Single city? Yeah, you could play shows at several places around town and call it a tour as long as you load in, do a show, load out, go somewhere else, repeat. But this was 50 shows at the same venue. Loading in and never leaving is not a “tour”.
Don’t forget the British beer expert, too!

oopps f/u on line 2…should be Moldau…everything else is correct, cuz windowpane is never lies.
/smooch
Bruno premier blocked access to dead guy’s star. Now that’s winning the fame whore war!

He is, and he was last on the air last year. Unfortunately, there isn’t room for a gentleman like him in the LA media market.
Arrgghh.
The stupid… it burns…
Yay name rape!
We are all just sooo fucking clever.
And, of course, the really pathetic thing is even if this HAD been the now dead Michael Jackson’s star, that’s pretty pathetic they are doing that.
are those vibrators in there with the flowers and candles?
I see a can of bug spray.
no, those are light sabers
@petehoekstra I think this is how those people in Dallas felt when Kennedy got shot.
I’ll bet the guy in the yellow t-shirt does a mean MJ impression complete with moonwalk, hat-tip, and crotch grab…oooh, I’m sorry, too early in the morning for that image.
Where is John Ziegler now that he needs a crowd??
I think Mark Sanford feels the same way about Michael Jackson probably about the way Gary Condit felt about 9/11.
WTF’s going on with your images ?
Light sabre vibrators? How cool is that?
And the relief pitcher!
Everything that I know that’s worth knowing about beer, I learned from Michael Jackson. NEVER FORGET.

fleshlights? dear god, tell me those aren’t fleshlights…
At first, I didn’t read the caption, and I thought, “Sheesh, get a life.” Then, I read the caption and I thought, “Sheesh, get a brain.” Good god.
The thing is:

Any port in a storm, man.

I am a roadie and I approve this message.
And still, I don’t care.
Microphones. Not fleshlights or light sabers or vibrators: microphones, and expensive ones too.
