I am reminded of when Jane was on MSNBC with Jilian Bandes:
There is a lesson here. Just because you are invited to go on TV, doesn’t mean that you should, you know, actually go on TV.
There is probably another lesson here involving Jillian’s hair but you might want to speak to FEMA about that.

She’s the poster child for the right’s grassroots mobilization. All fired up about the issue–passionate, inspired, ready and willing to fight.
And, unfortunately, tragically ignorant and mal-informed about even the basics of the issue.
“I don’t want my America to turn into…Russia or some other goddamn commiepinkoislamoblackety-black-blackfascist, er, socialized country!”
Yes, because god forbid we have a socialized country. Well, don’t worry Katy-Tomaty! There’s little chance of THAT ever happening with people like you around. I couldn’t watch the clip, not even for the delectable Larry because I am so fucking tired of stupidity and ignorance. I read other people’s dissections of her comments, and Honey, you picked the wrong time to start becoming interested in politics. Where the fuck were you the last eight years?
As for Jilian, the aging Shirley Temple, she can bite me.
Jillian Bandes got fired back in 2005 when she started her Coulter-wannabe act. Scroll down to “Ugly, ugly girl” on Sept. 16.

Money quote from this racist bitch: “I want all Arabs to be stripped naked and cavity-searched if they get within 100 yards of an airport.”
Lovely lady.
Wow. Just, wow. Oh, and your first commenter was a complete idiot. I hate that you can write a complex nuanced blog entry and someone comes along and shouts, “WOLVERINES!” He completely missed your point. Anyway, nice to see the rotting corpse of Jilian’s soul. Thanks for linking to that.
She obviously went to Sara Palin’s charm school.
Rich Lowery gets another woody. Some take Viagra, some just need stupid.
Asking her to pay a few extra dollars -which she is too stupid to confirm she has to pay – so that other Americans can have access to health care sends her off the rails. George Bush sending other people’s children to kill still other people’s children and get killed themselves? Meh.
Apparently the stupid no longer burns; if you follow instructions it becomes a home perm and bad dye job.
For me, the clincher was the reaction shot of Senator Specter’s face when she finished haranguing him. His look said, “All you people who were wondering about why I left the Republican Party? Said it was a cynical, calculating move? Said I just wanted to keep my job? Look to my immediate left, over here, and realize that this. . .person. . . yelling about Russia. . .is old enough to run for a Senate seat. Do you want to be known as the last person in your party with any brains?”
Apparently the Three Bears didn’t do anything to correct Jillian’s sense of civility. First, stealing porridge and messing up the beds…and she grew up rude anyway.
Specter should have beat her over the head with that microphone saying: “Didn’t you learn ANYTHING in school?”
Watching Abrams squirming in the face of basic facts, I was both moved to sympathy and disgust.
Sympathy for this poor, misguided, malinformed “moran” who was suddenly being eviscerated on national TV. It was like watching my kid’s U-9 soccer team play Brazil. Or the Padres play anybody.
But THIS is what the debate invites. It’s disgusting that this is the level of our discourse. Disgusting that someone who self-identifies as someone who “doesn’t know anything about politics” suddenly becomes a spokesperson for a national movement who also don’t know anything about politics (or at least policy).
What worries me is that we underestimate the power of stoopud at our peril.
But you know what? She’s got the attention of MSNBC — a big, fat microphone stuck right in her face so she can spew forth her ignorance. And as long as our agenda is set by Glenn Beck and his fellow travelers in the MSM, then this “debate” is going to remain a high stakes game of mental midget mud wrestling.
The final outcome will be accordingly embarrasing for everyone — not least Mr. Obama, who apparently is now staking his presidency on reform. Maybe he should have thought that one through to the end before he appointed Rahm Emanuel and the rest of the corrupt insiders as high priests in his administration, while completely ostracizing real health care reform advocates like Howard Dean. With that crack squad of sellouts and industry bitchez supposedly playing offense for him, Obama might as well start fundraising for his library and think of career moves for 2012 and beyond…
Via diarist Stef over at GOS, sweet innocent Katy ain’t quite the political novice she claims to be.
And according to an update from Stef, Ms. Abram is now comparing herself to MLK.
The business with Katy Abram left a bad taste in my mouth, so it was good someone elsewhere linked to this lovely story about how Joan Baez and one of her people dealt with some protesting VN War vets outside of a concert she had in Idaho.
I luv that woman; truly a class act.
The next time, they should send someone besides Jillian who speaks both English and Valley Girl……………….
Oh, come on. Jillian Bandes acquits herself very well for someone who is a Muppet. True, she lacks the eloquence of Animal and the sex appeal of Bert. But for a Muppet she’s a damn good political analyst.
Here’s a more direct link:

Funny how often these “ordinary soccer moms” or “working stiffs” turn out to be Repub or LyndonLaRouche RW activists.
It must have been a link from the DKos diary that I can’t find now, but there was a snag of her area meet-up posts dating to 2006 about setting up a “9/12″ group and organizing meetings about agitating for RW causes. A fair amount of constitutional ignorance even on those short posts, as I recall.
She’s taken all that stuff down now. And her blog has closed comments when I checked it out a minute ago.
Let’s see, which one of the town halls was it where the grass-roots “Chairman of her local Republican Party” got some air time to express her lies about healthcare? so much going on, again, I’m losing track of where I saw things.
I was really hoping to rest a little after the election.
Another thing to thank Bush for, of course; if he hadn’t left us in such a sudden financial meltdown we wouldn’t be having to try to do all these important things at once.
If stupidity was painful , I imagine Katy would be suffering from a permanent , blinding migrane. Kind of like the one I get when I listen to these ass nuggets for more than a few minutes at a time.
It was uncomfortable to watch. I think her demeanor allowed me to impute a benign quality to her stupidity, and you’re right, that could be dangerous. I was reminded of the German soldier Tom Hanks cut loose in Saving Private Ryan. He may not have been SS, but he was a willing, and unrepentant killer. I don’t see an upside to interviews with the Katys of the right; they aren’t persuadable, and holding them up for ridicule makes us look bad.
Katy’s stupidity is painful…to the rest of us.
So, ‘Jillian’ – you don’t believe food is a basic human right? Also?
And it is SO TOO ONLY 20 MILLION PEOPLE OUT OF INSURANCE SO IT’S O-KAY. Too. Also.
How can one be blase about war being “a permanent state of affairs” and get into a snit over the cost of public health care? I wish O’Donnell had asked: “…how much do you think those wars in Iraq you couldn’t care less about have cost the taxpayer?”
Enough to fund health care for you and yours for the next eleventy years.
Beyond the whopping deductible Abram defends the right to choose, I wish O’Donnell had asked her how many thousands she pays a year to have that bargoon. Ten, fifteen, twenty-thousand? Oh yeah, who wouldn’t prefer that to a few extra hundred a year in taxes.
Katy is too stupid to know how stupid she is — sort of like Palin.
I caught that interview she did with Larry, and was thinking: Oh Katy, what made you think you were ready for big-time teevee? I didn’t feel any sympathy though. I’m sick of these ignoramuses. Screw ‘em.
Jillian – Valley Girl on Steriods.
What is that line in the Bible?
I was hungry and you mocked me for being unable to get out of the wagon and pull like a good Randian?
So on the one hand you have these tools crying about death panels for Grandma and on the other hand they don’t even think food is a human right.
Cloud cuckoo land mofos.

…and Obama and Libs want “socialism” AND “fascism” at the same time, even though those two concepts are complete opposites.
…and Obama is a secret Muslim infiltrator AND promotes the Jewish Takeover of America by giving jobs to those two Mossad Emanuel brothers with the weird names.
They literally have no idea what they’re talking about. It’s so funny to confront them with these simple flaws in their arguments. Lots of awkward silence.
Sad that they have such a major influence on our national discourse, by way of the BigMedia promoting anything to keep John Q Nascar voting against his own interests.
The idiot can’t even figure out it’s a socialist country not a socialized country. You socialize a child or a dog. Dumbfuck you don’t socialize a country not in an ideological fashion anyway.
And yet, she managed to say this, absolutely clueless what she was describing.
“And, you know, with the founders, they had-they thought and hoped that the goodness of the people would allow the people to take care of those who could-who were doing without.”
So….. the Founders were figuring that people who couldn’t do for themselves would be taken care of by the goodness of the people
Deep sigh…..
heyz .. the goodness of the peoples is like social ..social.. ummm .. socialism….
she said .. “health insurance .. we don’t need no lousy health insurance .. we wants to pay cash for everything ”
lawd ..spares us from dumb-asses please … delivers us from ignorance ..amen ..
There is probably another lesson here involving Jillian’s hair but you might want to speak to FEMA about that.
Apparently, Brownie is doing her hair. Heckuva job, Brownie.
Jane, you are so shrill. How dare you confront the Winger with facts. And Jillian made a great point when she proved (via the power of confident assertion) that 10 to 20 million people without insurance is a number so small it can be safely ignored. As one of those people without insurance, I just want to say I demand to be ignored. I’d certainly hate to inconvenience anyone just so I could have insurance to help me with my serious chronic health problems.
Oh, I misunderstood. I thought she was upset because Specter had dissed some musical group called “The Flounders,” and their song, “Suck It Up Losers and Leave Our Amway Biz Alone.” Otherwise, she didn’t make a bit of sense and was an embarrassment to Pennsylvania pubic school systems.
