I got no prob with that, so long as none of it gets on McMegan,Ecopoliticogoddess or screws up The Puzzler.
In a semi-related note, some idiot with a new book of “Twitter Wit” (i.e., crap he pulled of teh intertubes) was on the radio this morning, talking about how Twitter is so valuable because legions of new comics can gain exposure without the hassle of endless touring through dingy open-mic nights, honing their craft. I had to resist the urge to throw the radio through the nearest (25th-floor) window.
Who is this idiot?
They do seem to have that special something, that vapidity saturated in stupidity and topped with vacuous self absorption, which epitomizes The Atlantic.
They ought to change the name of that rag to “The Navel Gazer”.
He delivers at least one acid jab per week. This was my favorite this week, too.
Another great line from Roy, commenting on said culture warrior’s love of the new Melrose Place as a guiding moral light on the teevee.
You can see Dostoevsky looking down from the clouds, nodding solemnly, with an arm slung over Aaron Spelling’s shoulder.
That’s some sweet intertube goodness.
Ain’t it, though? Sweetness. Also. Goodness.
You know, there are cities with actual trees in them, and family-sized houses. St. Louis is a good example. “City” != “New York”. Part of the reason my parents chose to live outside the City of St. Louis is because of the trees, but also because the schools were awful then and are more awful now.
Chicago Tree Initiative The page has a map of the tree cover in Chicago.
Ta-Nehisi Coates’s Civil War posts are none of the things listed above.
