As head of the Committee on Homeland Security and Government Affairs, Senator Joe Lieberman (I- His Own Bad Self) has previously shown no interest in looking into totally bo-ring subjects such as torture, massive government failure during Katrina, war profiteering and fraud, and the eight years of general fuckedupedness that occurred during the administration of that guy he used make out with.

But sometimes a man has to stand up and do what’s right and what is in the best interests of his country and damn the consequences,  he doesn’t care what anyone thinks, because enough is enough.

U-S-A! U-S-A! U-S-A!

This, of course, has nothing to do with Joe Lieberman who is a self-aggrandizing homunculus.

But Joe is going to investigate “Czars? Do We Really Need’em?”:

As Greg Sargent first reported, Sen. Joe Lieberman (I-Conn.) will preside over a hearing on presidential “czars” in his Committee on Homeland Security and Government Affairs. The hearing will be this Thursday, and the scheduled witnesses are Tom Ridge, George Mason University Prof. James Pfiffner, former OLC Lee Casey, and Harold Relyea, formerly of the Congressional Research Service.

As Sargent previously noted:

Hey, so guess who is mulling new legislation to solve the alleged problem of Obama’s “czars”? Joe Lieberman!

He may even hold hearings on the czars, as the chair of the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee. Since this will confer legitimacy on an attack that has mostly emanated from Glenn Beck and the hothouse right, it could prompt an “I told you so” chorus from those who argued that Lieberman should be stripped of his committee slots.

In fairness, we don’t know what Lieberman’s goals are; his spokesperson declined to clarify.

In all fairness, we do know what Joe Lieberman’s goal is : Promote Joe Lieberman.
