I’m entitled to overcome
Completely stunned I’m numb
Knock me down throw me to the floor!
There’s no pain i can’t feel no more.
I’m entitled to overcome
Overcome!-Overcome (duh) – S. Stapp
And.
Well, guess what? Billboard has just released the album charts for last week and Creed’s inexplicably successful comeback release Full Circle has sold 110,000 copies, which makes it the number TWO album in the country, right behind (you guessed it)…
Michael Jackson’s posthumous This Is It!
It’s been a year now. I blame Obama.

not only that, but the effing Yankee won, with Godzilla as MVP no less.
There is no god
Meanwhile, I’ve discovered my new favorite album of the year, and maybe the decade – The Duckworth Lewis Method, featuring Neil (The Divine Comedy) Hannon and Thomas (Pugwash) Walsh. It’s an entire album of songs about cricket (the sport, not the bug), and it blends elements of the Kinks, T. Rex, ELO, the Beatles, and countless other influences into a seamless whole. Highly, highly recommended. (And there are some fun YouTube clips of live performances in various configurations.)
or you could have quoted the lyrics (or the title for that matter) of Live’s Shit Town.
It is your (expletive lovingly deleted) blog after all.

Yeah I’m and old fart. Sue me.
Sweet Baby James was the first song the L&T Casey learned to sing, having had it sung to her every night as a baby at bedtime.
So….awwwwww. That’s so sweet.
My new baby grandson is named James and I made him a quilt with, among other things, “Rock-a-bye Sweet Baby James” embroidered on it. I play James Taylor for him every week when he comes to the grandparents for fun and culture. He hasn’t discovered yet that Grammy can’t carry a tune, so he smiles when I sing Sweet Baby James to him.

My daughter (now 20) is forever grateful I never sang to her as a baby, though I do remember us jamming to Bob Marley in the car, a personal fave of hers when she was maybe 6. Now she’s all into some kind of club music, of which there are apparently limitless sub-genres. She loves to dance. Another gift she did NOT get from me.
